Purpose of Job The purpose of this job is to manage the day-to-day Medical First Response program within the Athens-Clarke County Fire Department. This assignment is intended to function primarily as an administrative role focused on EMS program oversight, quality improvement, and operational support. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to prioritizing and responding to routine and emergency situations, providing EMS training, performing quality improvement, ePCR review, and EMS oversight. Assists with policy development and implementation regarding emergency medical care, fostering partnerships with community partners, completing assigned administrative tasks, and performing additional tasks as assigned. Job Related Requirements WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Subject to work holidays, weekends, and on-call after hours.Regular and predictable attendance is required. Must be a certified firefighter II with Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training or equivalent. Current EMT or higher with two years of experience. Blue Card Incident Command Certification.PICO/STICOPossess a minimum of a valid Georgia Class C Non-commercial Driver's License.Must obtain AEMT within 12 months of promotion/hire. Must obtain Incident Safety Officer within 12 months of promotion/hire.Must obtain Fire Instructor I or EMS Instructor within 18 months of promotion/hire.
