Schedule:<ul><li>
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. &ndash; 4:00 p.m.</li><li>
Overtime is available</li><li>
No rotating shifts</li><li>

Work Environment:<ul><li>
Mobile service role supporting refuse customers throughout the Hampton Roads area</li><li>
Work performed at customer locations with a fully equipped service vehicle</li><li>
Specialty work on refuse trucks and heavy-duty waste equipment</li></ul>
Key Job Duties:<ul><li>
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on fire and emergency apparatus, including chassis, body systems, water pumps, electrical components, and engines</li><li>
Operate and inspect equipment to identify problems and determine the most effective repair solution to return apparatus to safe operating condition</li><li>
Inspect parts and components for damage or excessive wear using specialized diagnostic tools and equipment</li><li>
Repair, rebuild, overhaul, or replace defective components such as gauges, air fittings, plumbing lines and valves, hydraulic lines, pumps, and basic engine components</li><li>
Test repaired equipment to verify proper operation, efficiency, and safety before returning the apparatus to service</li></ul>
Requirements:

What we&rsquo;re looking for:<ul><li>
Diesel mechanic experience, preferably with heavy duty trucks or refuse vehicles</li><li>
Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems</li><li>
Valid driver&rsquo;s license with an acceptable driving record</li><li>
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation</li><li>
Ability to pass pre-employment screening</li></ul>
