OVERVIEW 
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Tax Associate to join our NW Phoenix team. This full-time, onsite position is a great opportunity for a professional seeking to advance their career in public accounting. Working under the guidance of Controllers, Directors, Managers, and CPAs, the Tax Associate will play a key role in tax preparation, general accounting support, and client service. This position offers hands-on experience in a collaborative environment with a firm committed to long-term career development. 
 
LOCATION 
This position is based in our Northwest Phoenix office. Qualified remote candidates residing within the United States will be considered. 
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>
Prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals and various entity types;</li><li>
Assist with federal and state compliance reporting requirements;</li><li>
Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness;</li><li>
Conduct general bookkeeping tasks, including payroll processing and account reconciliations;</li><li>
Enter and verify financial data, schedule required work, and maintain client files with strict confidentiality;</li><li>
Utilize QuickBooks Online/Desktop, CCH, and Microsoft Office Suite to support day-to-day operations;</li><li>
Maintain a full workload and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks;</li><li>
May support audit-related functions as needed;</li><li>
Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.</li></ul>
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES<ul><li>
Highly organized, accurate, and detail-oriented;</li><li>
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;</li><li>
Service mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;</li><li>
Team-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and initiative;</li><li>
Proficiency in QuikBooks, Microsoft Office, and CCH</li><li>
Active listening and problem-solving skills.;</li><li>
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);</li><li>
Understanding of tax basis accounting methods (Cash and Accrual)</li></ul>
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting or Finance</li><li>
CPA track or active pursuit of CPA certification preferred but not required.</li><li>
2&ndash;4 years of professional experience in a similar tax/accounting role is preferred.</li><li>
Prior experience in a public accounting firm is a plus.</li></ul>

WORKING CONDITIONS 
Must be able to operate a variety of machines and equipment, including computer, office equipment, telephone, etc. Tasks may require extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Required to occasionally lift, hold, or carry items weighing up to 40 pounds. Individuals must perform the principal duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
