We are seeking a CMT Field Technician 1 to join our Southern California team! Come join us!
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
<ul><li>Perform field and plant inspections for HMA and/or PCC production and placement</li>
<li>Conduct sampling and testing of construction materials in accordance with applicable standards</li>
<li>Monitor contractor compliance with project specifications and quality standards</li>
<li>Document and report test results accurately and in a timely manner</li>
<li>Communicate findings and issues to project engineers and contractors</li>
<li>Maintain and calibrate testing equipment</li>
<li>Assist in resolving material-related construction issues</li>
<li>Participate in safety meetings and adhere to all safety protocols</li>
<li>Support project documentation and closeout processes</li>
</ul>
Minimum requirements:
<ul><li>1.Education:
<ul><li>Associate&rsquo;s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Materials Science, or a related field.</li>
<li>OR High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant experience in construction materials testing or inspection.</li>
</ul></li><li>Professional Experience:
<ul><li>Minimum 3 years of professional experience in construction materials testing, inspection, or quality assurance.</li>
<li>Experience with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) and/or Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) plant inspection is required (minimum 1 year).</li>
</ul></li><li>Other Desired Qualifications:
<ul><li>ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician&mdash;Grade I Certification</li>
<li>Experience working on transportation infrastructure projects (e.g., highways, bridges, airports).</li>
<li>Familiarity with Caltrans or other DOT specifications and procedures.</li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li>
</ul></li></ul>Technical requirements:
<ul><li>Certifications (preferred or required):
<ul><li>ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician &ndash; Grade I</li>
<li>Caltrans Acceptance Tester Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)</li>
<li>Nuclear Gauge Safety Certification (for HMA testing)</li>
<li>OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification</li>
</ul></li><li>Valid California Driver&rsquo;s License and clean driving record</li>
<li>Ability to pass a background check and drug screening</li>
<li>Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports</li>
<li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)</li>
<li>Experience with data entry and reporting software (e.g., SiteManager, LIMS)</li>
<li>Familiarity with nuclear density gauges, slump cones, air meters, and other field testing equipment</li>
<li>Understanding of construction materials standards (ASTM, AASHTO, Caltrans)</li>
<li>Knowledge of quality control/quality assurance procedures in construction materials testing</li>
</ul>
Other miscellaneous qualities:
<ul><li>Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including occasional overnight stays depending on project location</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety</li>
<li>Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments</li>
<li>Excellent time management and organizational skills</li>
<li>Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed</li>
</ul>
Compensation: 
 
$35.00 - $45.00 hourly 
 
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state&rsquo;s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
