We are seeking an Environmental Specialist to join our Santa Maria, CA team! Come join us!
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
<ul><li>Manage day-to-day operations for subsurface investigation and remediation projects throughout California including all aspects of the project life cycle such as proposal generation, technical execution, reporting, and invoicing.</li>
<li>Provide mentorship for junior level staff.</li>
<li>Execute project work appropriate for experience level related to due diligence, site investigation and characterization, remediation, and related environmental consulting areas.</li>
<li>Work closely with local management to develop new clients and expand services provided to existing clients.</li>
<li>Actively participate in professional and technical organizations appropriate for core skill set and client needs.</li>
<li>Prepare or review reports by assisting with data compilation, reduction, interpretation, evaluation, and comparison to state and/or federal environmental regulatory standards.</li>
<li>Positively interact with internal and external clients, service partners, and contractors.</li>
<li>Promote a safety-first culture that values proactive measures and continuous improvement.</li>
<li>Collaborate with other team members toward a common goal of providing client-centric services with high quality interactions and deliverables.</li>
<li>Embrace and model the Atlas core values including trust, mastery, heart, and life.</li>
</ul>
Minimum requirements:
<ul><li>2-5+ years of experience, including a combination of project management, field work, data evaluation, technical writing, and QA/QC in the environmental consulting field.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of procedures and methodologies related to due diligence, site investigation, and remediation.</li>
<li>Experience with client management, contract management, business development, and participation in professional organizations.</li>
<li>Experience with implementation and supervision of health and safety requirements.</li>
<li>Strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint).</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently or in a team setting.</li>
<li>Excellent problem solving and general scientific evaluation skills</li>
<li>Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple activities on an ongoing basis.</li>
<li>Must be able to pass drug screen and motor vehicle background check.</li>
<li>Ability to lift 50 lbs.</li>
</ul>
Technical requirements:
<ul><li>Experience with environmental consulting and project management in California.</li>
<li>40-hr HAZWOPER training and 8-hour annual refresher.</li>
</ul>
Other miscellaneous qualities:
<ul><li>Preferred location near Santa Maria, CA.</li>
</ul>
Compensation: 
 
$80,000 - $110,000 per year. 
 
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state&rsquo;s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

We are seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our team! This person could work from the Des Moines or Waterloo areas. Come join us!
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
<ul><li>Successful candidates will work with experience professional consultants in performing environmental assessment and remediation projects related to petroleum and other industrial chemical releases.</li>
<li>Candidates must be willing to work both as part of a team and independently in the office as well as in the field on small to large projects.</li>
<li>Motivated candidates willing to learn and grow within an organization that has potential for advancement should apply.</li>
<li>Performance of site investigations to support environmental projects, including field collection of samples and the interpretation of environmental data and report writing.</li>
<li>Analysis of sampling data, including summary tables, result interpretation, and sample location maps.</li>
<li>Conduct and document field activities such as soil and groundwater sampling, installation of soil borings and monitoring wells, interviews, and tank excavations and/or removals.</li>
<li>Preparation of technical reports.</li>
</ul>
Minimum requirements:
<ul><li>0-3 years related environmental consulting experience</li>
<li>Excellent written and oral communication skills</li>
<li>Preferred 40-hour Hazwoper</li>
<li>Ability to work effectively on multiple assignments</li>
<li>Capable of working independently, under direct supervision of others, and in a team-orientated environment</li>
<li>Valid Driver's license and ability to pass a MVR</li>
<li>Commitment to safety</li>
</ul>
Technical requirements:
<ul><li>Attention to detail, ability to clearly document field activities and sampling.</li>
<li>Ability to obtain OSHA 40-hr Hazwoper and related training.</li>
</ul>
