<p>
We're searching for a Senior software engineer to join Aurora's Vehicle Data Management team. The Vehicle Data Management Team is responsible for offloading, ingesting and scaling data through various pipelines, including autonomy sensor data, vehicle logs, sims, models, and training sets. The ideal candidate will design and implement systems that efficiently work for both physical offloaders and cloud, and also be an effective liaison between onboard system to cloud system.</p>
<p><b>
In this role, you will</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Architect and implement on-vehicle/offload + cloud data systems that scale to hundreds of PB of multimodal data (sensor/log/sim/ML datasets).</li>
<li>Improve reliability and performance of offline data workflows: throughput, latency, and discoverability (indexing/metadata/search).</li>
<li>Build internal tooling, libraries, and operational patterns that make data pipelines evolve and scale.</li>
<li>Own key services end-to-end (design, implementation, rollout, on-call/operations, observability, and incident response).</li>
<li>Partner directly with stakeholders across onboard systems, autonomy, ML, and infrastructure to deliver pragmatic solutions.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Required Qualifications</b></p>
<ul>
<li>BS/MS or PhD in Computer Science or a related field</li>
<li>Minimum 3-5 years related experience</li>
<li>Required programming skills: GoLang/Python</li>
<li>General knowledge of backend software systems networking, load balancing, API gateways, system security, gRPC services.</li>
<li>AWS infrastructure experience, including S3 and DynamoDB in a production commercial system</li>
<li>Knowledge of database design, database management and database scalability.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Desirable Qualifications</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Proficiencies with coding in C++</li>
<li>Proficiencies with Linux system</li>
<li>Experience with large scale distributed systems or microservice architectures</li>
<li>A passion for writing robust, intuitive, high-performance code, and being pragmatic about it</li>
<li>Ability to navigate and work efficiently in large codebase</li>
<li>Strong software development background demonstrated by industry experience in building platforms that serve AV development and commercialization.</li>
</ul>
<p>The base salary range for this position is<b> </b>$162,000 - $260,000 per Year. Aurora's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.</p>
