QAQC Inspector

Summary: Ensures welding work is safe and ready to function as part of the structure or device it is a part of. This role is vital in ensuring that safety regulations are followed and that welders and their workplaces are safe. The QA/QC Inspector is expected to be fully conversant with welding processes such as MIG, TIG, arc, laser and butt with metals, including steel and aluminum for use on tubes, non-tubular bars, plates and tanks. This is conducted by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties:
<ul>
<li>Daily Construction Surveillance:</li>
<li>Perform daily inspections at project sites, focusing on welding, structural, and civil work.</li>
<li>Monitor the progress of construction and ensure all processes are compliant with standards.</li>
<li>Reporting: Draft daily reports based on site observations, highlighting discrepancies or safety issues.</li>
<li>Report non-compliance or other issues to the QA/QC Manager and Project Manager.</li>
<li>Code Compliance Inspections: Coordinate inspections to ensure that work aligns with client specifications and state laws.</li>
<li>Map out welds to be performed and flag those for Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) when needed.</li>
<li>NDE Inspections: Perform Non-Destructive Examinations (NDE) of welds, as necessary.</li>
<li>Fully inspect welds before and after the hydrostatic testing of welded piping or vessels.</li>
<li>Hydrostatic Testing: Witness the hydrostatic testing (hydro) of welded piping or vessels to ensure integrity and compliance.</li>
<li>Collaboration with Client QA Personnel: Collaborate effectively with client QA teams to address quality concerns and ensure quality assurance standards are met.</li>
<li>Indirect Supervision of Welders: Oversee the work of welders in the Operations Department, ensuring they adhere to Austin Industrial&rsquo;s policies, procedures, and safety standards.</li>
<li>Supervisory Tasks: Interview, hire, and train employees, as necessary.</li>
<li>Plan, assign, and direct work to ensure successful project completion.</li>
<li>Evaluate employee performance, reward accomplishments, and address issues like complaints or non-performance.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>

Qualifications Required for this Position:
<ul>
<li>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Associate degree preferred, and five years related experience as an inspector and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Eight or more years&rsquo; experience with ASME B31.36 and ASME Sec VIII and NBIC AWS CWI. ASNT Level II in VT, MT and PT. Minimum of 8 years of Quality Control experience in the industrial industry. Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) ASNT (SNT-TC-1A) Level II in one or more method: PT, UTT (thickness readings), or RTI (film interpretation) preferred or equivalent education. Engineering degrees can substitute for some or all the CWI and ASNT certifications Civil, structural, mechanical, and minor electrical inspection experience needed. Auditing experience preferred. Read and interpret project drawings and specifications.</li>

<div>Austin Industrial is currently seeking an experienced Office Manager.

The Field Office Manager responsibilities are to provide overall direction and control over the jobsite accounting, personnel functions, and other administrative support functions required to support the project staff. 


Functional Areas of Responsibility
<ul>
<li>Jobsite accounts payable/receivable.</li>
<li>Job cost accounting.</li>
<li>Change order accounting.</li>
<li>Support of job status reports.</li>
<li>Owner billings.</li>
<li>Project insurance administration.</li>
<li>Personnel administration.</li>
<li>Payroll administration.</li>
<li>Jobsite office administration.</li></ul> 


Specific Duties and Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Prepare and submit monthly pay requests in accordance with contract terms.</li>
<li>Oversee all field payroll functions for both hourly and salaried employees; ensuring that all hours worked are properly documented, coded, and reported to the Austin Accounting Department. Receive and distribute payroll checks in accordance with established policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Receive and process all invoices and pay requests from suppliers and subcontractors, including M/WBE and subcontractor man-hour reporting. Ensure the necessary back-up documentation is on file before approving invoices for payment. Monitor the entire invoice system to ensure that subcontractors and suppliers are being paid in a timely manner. Follow up with subcontractors and suppliers to receive appropriate back-up documentation.</li>
<li>Maintain the project job-cost ledgers that support pay requests to the owner.</li>
<li>Work with the Project Manager to ensure that all subcontractors have the necessary bonding and insurance documents properly completed and on file before their scope of work commences.</li>
<li>Incorporate change order revisions into the schedule of values.</li>
<li>Assist in preparation of the monthly job status report.</li>
<li>Ensure that all project cost items are coded properly according to the chart of accounts and recorded and paid in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Monitor all reports from the performance reporting system for accuracy and consistency and assist Project Manager in making all necessary revisions.</li>
<li>Direct a variety of jobsite personnel functions, (e.g., pre-employment/pre-transfer physical exams and drug tests, reference checks, new employee enrollments and orientations, group insurance)</li>
<li>Assist the Project Manager in a number of functions related to close out of a project to include the final billing to the owner.</li>
<li>Perform a wide variety of related administrative support tasks, (e.g., preparation of safety reports, equipment inventories and maintenance records). Ensure that all equipment onsite is reported for insurance purposes.</li>
<li>Establish and maintain the project filing system.</li>
<li>Perform general office and clerical duties.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul> 


Qualifications
<ul>
<li>3+ years of accounting experience working in an industrial setting.</li>
<li>Knowledge of accounting software programs. (ex: TRACK, CATS)</li>
<li>Knowledge of MS Office (ex: Excel)</li>
<li>Ability to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines.</li></ul>

<li>Checks the weakness of work pieces and measures work pieces with straightedge or template to ensure the piece meets specifications.</li>
<li>Climbs up ladders or works on scaffolds to take apart textures.</li>
<li>Gives signal to crane operator to lift large work pieces.</li>
<li>Uses thermal-cutting equipment such as flame-cutting torch or plasma-arc equipment to dismount metal assemblies or cut scrap metal.</li>
<li>Uses hoist, crane, wire and banding machine, or hand tools to place and protect work pieces.</li>
<li>In order to protect the torch chooses place of weld based on type, thickness, area, and expected temperature of metal.</li>
<li>Instructs and brings flame or electrodes on or across work piece to straighten, curve, dissolve, or develop metal.</li>
<li>Joins pieces together, covers up taut points, and adds metal to develop parts.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>
