 Job Overview
 
 
 
 The news team at Austin PBS is looking for an eager, creative, self-motivated intern to join our team. As an intern for the news department, you&rsquo;ll help support the weekly news program, ongoing community-based journalism project, Decibel and Austin InSight. Interns get real hands-on experience and are an integral part of our team. You&rsquo;ll assist with studio and field productions, researching topical issues, social media content creation &ndash; all with the opportunity to work alongside a group of talented journalists and storytellers. You will be trained &amp; mentored on the following job duties.
 
 
 
 Role &amp; Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Assist with studio production and field productions
 </li>
 <li>
 Pitch story ideas
 </li>
 <li>
 Create new social media friendly content from existing packages
 </li>
 <li>
 Pitch and coordinate studio and remote interviews
 </li>
 <li>
 Staff remote shoots
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform other duties as needed

 Requirements
 
 
 
 
 Minimum Qualifications
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Undergraduate student, must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship
 </li>
 <li>
 Strongly prefer candidates majoring in journalism
 </li>
 <li>
 Student must be available to commit to a minimum of 9 weeks for this internship
 </li>
 <li>
 Internship will be hybrid
 </li>
 <li>
 15-20 hour a week commitment
 </li>
 <li>
 Pay rate is $20/ hour
