We&rsquo;re looking for a skilled and dependable Accounting Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you&rsquo;ll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in homes and businesses. You&rsquo;ll work safely, professionally, and with a customer-first mindset. 
 
What You'll Do:
1. General Ledger &amp; Month-End Close
<ul><li> Own month-end close process and timeline</li></ul>
<ul><li> Perform all balance sheet reconciliations (bank, CC, AP/AR, accruals)</li></ul>
<ul><li> Prepare and post journal entries with support and documentation</li></ul>
<ul><li> Ensure proper cut-off for revenue, expenses, payroll, and inventory</li></ul>
<ul><li> Maintain clean, supportable books ready for review at any time</li></ul> 
 
2. Accounts Payable (AP)
<ul><li> Manage vendor bills, coding, and approval workflows</li></ul>
<ul><li> Match invoices to POs, contracts, and receiving (where applicable)</li></ul>
<ul><li> Maintain vendor master data and W-9s</li></ul>
<ul><li> Schedule payments to optimize cash flow and discounts</li></ul>
<ul><li> Prevent duplicate or erroneous payments</li></ul>
<ul><li> Handle vendor inquiries professionally and promptly</li></ul> 
 
3. Accounts Receivable (AR)
<ul><li> Own customer invoicing accuracy and timeliness</li></ul>
<ul><li> Ensure job billing aligns with contracts, change orders, and schedules</li></ul>
<ul><li> Manage collections process and follow-ups with ops/project managers</li></ul>
<ul><li> Resolve billing disputes and short pays</li></ul>
<ul><li> Track AR aging, retention, and cash application</li></ul>
<ul><li> Reduce DSO and surface problem accounts early</li></ul> 
 
4. Job Costing &amp; Operational Accounting
<ul><li> Ensure labor, materials, and subcontract costs are coded correctly</li></ul>
<ul><li> Reconcile job cost subledgers to the GL</li></ul>
<ul><li> Support WIP, percent-complete, and retention tracking</li></ul>
<ul><li> Identify margin leaks and miscoded costs</li></ul>
<ul><li> Partner with ops to explain job-level variances</li></ul> 
 
5. Cash &amp; Treasury Support
<ul><li> Perform daily or weekly cash reconciliations</li></ul>
<ul><li> Forecast short-term cash needs with leadership</li></ul>
<ul><li> Monitor vendor payment timing vs. cash position</li></ul>
<ul><li> Support lender reporting and covenant tracking</li></ul>
<ul><li> Maintain discipline around restricted vs. unrestricted cash</li></ul> 
 
6. Payroll &amp; Labor Cost Support
<ul><li> Reconcile payroll to the GL</li></ul>
<ul><li> Ensure proper labor burden and allocations by job/entity</li></ul>
<ul><li> Coordinate with HR on new hires, terminations, and pay changes</li></ul>
<ul><li> Support audits related to payroll and labor</li></ul> 
 
7. Financial Reporting &amp; Review Support
<ul><li> Prepare monthly financial statements by entity</li></ul>
<ul><li> Create variance explanations vs budget and prior period</li></ul>
<ul><li> Support internal management reporting (KPIs, dashboards)</li></ul>
<ul><li> Assist controller/CFO with year-end, tax, and audit requests</li></ul>
<ul><li> Maintain documentation to support all reported balances</li></ul> 
 
8. Systems, Process &amp; Controls
<ul><li> Maintain accounting system accuracy (QBO, ERP, job cost systems)</li></ul>
<ul><li> Improve AP/AR workflows and internal controls</li></ul>
<ul><li> Implement standardized chart of accounts across entities</li></ul>
<ul><li> Support ERP or system implementations and cleanups</li></ul>
<ul><li> Identify process breakdowns and propose fixes</li></ul> 
 
9. M&amp;A &amp; Growth Support
<ul><li> Assist with onboarding acquired entities into accounting systems</li></ul>
<ul><li> Clean up historical books post-acquisition</li></ul>
<ul><li> Support opening balance sheet entries and reconciliations</li></ul>
<ul><li> Help standardize billing, AP, and close processes</li></ul>
<ul><li> Surface legacy accounting risks early</li></ul> 
 
10. Compliance &amp; Documentation
<ul><li> Ensure sales tax, use tax, and local filings are supported</li></ul>
<ul><li> Maintain organized digital documentation for all transactions</li></ul>
<ul><li> Support insurance audits, workers&rsquo; comp audits, and lender reviews</li></ul>
<ul><li> Follow record retention and internal control standards</li></ul> 
 
What You Bring:
<div><ul><li> 5+ year of accounting experience, CPA preferred</li></ul>
<ul><li> Detail-oriented but operationally curious.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Comfortable pushing back on ops when data doesn&rsquo;t tie</li></ul>
<ul><li> Can manage volume without cutting corners</li></ul>
<ul><li> Understands construction/trades accounting realities</li></ul>
