The Director of Bank Services provides strategic and operational leadership for all Bank Services functions, ensuring consistent execution, strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and a high level of internal client support across the organization. This role directs the operational activities of all banking center staff, as well as all deposit operations support functions. The Director is responsible for ensuring policies and procedures are well documented and maintained in compliance with all applicable federal and state banking regulations. Emphasis is placed on delivering high-quality support to frontline banking center personnel and operational teams, enabling efficient and consistent service delivery. The Director collaborates closely with operational, compliance, and risk management teams to ensure strong internal controls are implemented and adhered to on a daily basis. This role requires an experienced leader with proven strength in project management, operational discipline, leadership, and effective communication. The Director is expected to manage complex initiatives, drive accountability, and continuously raise performance standards across the organization.
Specific Job Functions
Bank Services Department Leadership<ul><li>
Lead and manage the Bank Services Operations Department and all assigned staff.</li><li>
Ensure adherence to departmental processes, procedures, internal controls, and performance standards; monitor, track, and report production metrics.</li><li>
Maintain well-documented, easy-to-understand, and accessible departmental policies and procedures.</li><li>
Clearly document and communicate expectations on an ongoing basis.</li><li>
Oversee staff training, cross-training, and knowledge management to ensure appropriate coverage and continuity.</li><li>
Ensure a high level of internal customer support; document and analyze service requests to assess service levels and identify improvement opportunities.</li><li>
Manage the departmental budget and prepare future budget forecasts to support service levels and strategic objectives.</li></ul>
Banking Center Operational Oversight<ul><li>
Provide oversight of banking center operations in partnership with Retail and Banking Center Management.</li><li>
Maintain strong working relationships to promote effective collaboration and consistent execution.</li><li>
Collaborate to ensure banking center staff adhere to bank processes, procedures, and internal controls.</li><li>
Ensure banking center policies and procedures are well documented, well managed, clearly communicated, and accessible to all employees.</li></ul>
Infrastructure, Growth, and Operational Readiness<ul><li>
Maintain a flexible, scalable department infrastructure to support bank growth.</li><li>
Implement policies and procedures that support current and future operational infrastructure while ensuring appropriate user capabilities, efficient processes, and well-controlled risk.</li><li>
Collaborate with operational, compliance, and risk teams to ensure processes, procedures, system capabilities, and risk assessments are properly documented and reported to appropriate committees.</li><li>
Partner with IT and system-related teams to ensure operational systems function efficiently, issues are resolved timely, and corrective measures are implemented as needed.</li></ul>
Strategic Project Management<ul><li>
Provide formal project management for Bank Services initiatives, including detailed project plans, assigned resources, action items, timelines, and budgets.</li><li>
Lead and manage multiple concurrent projects, including process improvements, procedure enhancements, and regulatory initiatives.</li><li>
Ensure timely project completion through effective resource utilization and accountability.</li><li>
Maintain detailed project documentation and provide regular status and budget updates.</li><li>
Actively participate in committee meetings to present and discuss project status, risks, and financial impacts.</li></ul>
Regulatory Compliance and Examinations<ul><li>
Ensure Bank Services policies and procedures comply with all applicable federal and state regulatory requirements.</li><li>
Monitor regulatory guidance to ensure timely and accurate implementation of Bank Services-related requirements.</li><li>
Maintain clear, concise documentation to evidence compliance efforts.</li><li>
Manage departmental responsibilities related to safety and soundness, compliance, and regulatory examination preparation and support</li></ul>
Minimum Job Requirements<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in business or a related field is required.<ul><li>
Four (4) years of experience in bank operations leadership can be used in lieu of degree.</li></ul></li><li>
Ten (10) years of experience in bank operations is required.</li><li>
Three (3) years of experience managing bank operations departments and staff is required.</li><li>
This position requires the applicant to live in one of the following states - Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas or Alabama</li><li>
Strong knowledge of bank operations, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.</li><li>
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.</li><li>
Proven leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to drive accountability and performance.</li><li>
Experience with project management methodologies and leading operational or regulatory initiatives (preferred).</li><li>
Ability to resolve immediate operational issues while maintaining a long-term strategic focus.</li><li>
Strong analytical skills with the ability to review, interpret, and document operational and regulatory information.</li><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel; advanced data analysis and reporting skills preferred.</li><li>
Ability to work efficiently across multiple systems and platforms concurrently.</li><li>
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.</li><li>
Occasional travel as required.</li></ul>

Director of Bank Services

<div>Summary
This position will serve as a key support function for the production officers of the Commercial Banking area and the Chief Banking Officer, focusing on developing and maintaining commercial lending and depository relationships for the Bank. This position will aid in the management of the bank&rsquo;s global commercial portfolio by participating in projects as directed by the Chief Banking Officer. The individual filling this position should be highly entrepreneurial and motivated, as this position should prepare them for success as a Commercial Banking leader within our organization.

Portfolio Manager Role:<ul><li>
Assist Bankers in preparation of any loan file comments, monitor loan covenants, monitor proper financial statement reporting, and monitor any collateral reporting as dictated by the policies of the organization.</li><li>
Prepare and/or analyze various periodic reports as requested by Senior Management, including the Market President and Chief Banking Officer (portfolio trends, b. exceptions to loan policy, risk ratings, loans sorted by various collateral codes, others as requested).</li><li>
Responsible for keeping current on all deposit and credit compliance and regulations; disseminating this information to the local and bank wide teams, and ensuring proper procedures are followed.</li><li>
Monitor loan repayment activity and take necessary action to collect past due accounts discussing with supervisor as required (Collections).</li><li>
Maintain a general understanding of products and services available within the Bank to refer customers to the proper department contact person.</li><li>
Provides support and sales reporting for the Bank&rsquo;s sales efforts which may include selling and promoting Bank&rsquo;s services, as opportunities arise.</li><li>
Ability to display strong credit underwriting skills, knowledge and proficiency in explaining, selling and administering products and the ability to use sales skills in negotiating financial terms.</li><li>
Performs duties quickly and accurately while maintaining customer satisfaction.</li><li>
Promotes our financial institution and its lending and depository services to the community and helps to identify and serve the community&rsquo;s financial needs by participating in community activities.</li><li>

Credit/Lending Role:<ul><li>
(These duties will be primarily performed to assist Bankers in servicing the clients of Asst. Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents, and Presidents, as well as Commercial Banking and Private Banking Officers &ndash; This position also supports the Chief Banking Officer for the bank&rsquo;s global commercial portfolio)</li><li>
Analyze financial and credit information pertaining to prospective and existing customers, provide subjective and objective risk taking, analyze the credit history of applicants and determines their loan repayment capabilities, spread and analyze financial statements for existing and prospective clients.</li><li>
Makes recommendations for changes to loan structure or presentation, as needed.</li><li>
Completes Lenders&rsquo; portions of credit approval presentation and prepares a written analysis of the loan and borrower.</li><li>
Assist in general preparation for credit presentations to appropriate approval authority (matrix, credit committee, etc.).</li><li>
Recommends credit grades.</li><li>
Performs other duties, as assigned.</li></ul></li></ul>
Job Requirements<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field</li><li>
Five years&rsquo; experience in a financial institution or loan office setting.</li><li>
Strong credit skills including financial and analytical skills.</li><li>
Good organizational and interpersonal skills.</li><li>
Has ability to work in a team setting.</li><li>
Strong oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers about the financial institution&rsquo;s loan and deposit products, programs, and policies.</li><li>
Has ability to organize and prioritize time and activity under minimal supervision.</li><li>
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Products including Word and Excel.</li></ul>
