Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Billing Coordinator to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will oversee the entire billing process, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing for our clients across various sectors. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where your skills in accounting software, medical billing, and financial analysis will make a tangible impact.Duties<ul><li>Prepare and process invoices using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, and other financial tools to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.</li><li>Manage accounts receivable by tracking payments, following up on overdue accounts, and resolving billing discrepancies efficiently.</li><li>Perform account reconciliation and analysis to verify the accuracy of financial data, including journal entries, debits &amp; credits, and revenue cycle management activities.</li><li>Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to resolve billing issues through negotiation and excellent customer service skills.</li><li>Maintain detailed records of billing transactions, including CPT coding for medical procedures, ICD-10 codes for diagnoses, and CPT coding for medical billing processes.</li><li>Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and governmental accounting regulations during all billing activities.</li><li>Assist with month-end closing processes by preparing reports related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial analysis.</li><li>Support audit preparations by maintaining organized documentation of all billing records and transactions.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments with a focus on billing or revenue cycle management.</li><li>Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; experience with medical billing systems is a plus.</li><li>Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX compliance standards, and governmental accounting regulations.</li><li>Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and medical collection processes is highly desirable.</li><li>Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing), along with double entry bookkeeping expertise.</li><li>Strong analysis skills to interpret financial data accurately and identify discrepancies promptly.</li><li>Effective negotiation abilities combined with outstanding phone etiquette and customer service skills.</li><li>Ability to perform account analysis, journal entries, account reconciliation, and maintain meticulous bookkeeping records.</li><li>Knowledge of financial concepts related to revenue cycle management within healthcare or non-profit organizations is advantageous.
