Job Summary:
Baerlocher USA headquartered in Cincinnati, OH is currently seeking an energetic, talented, experienced and passionate Account Manager to join our Special Additives team with expertise working in or with rubber and/or plastic additives. The person holding this position must be capable of self-managing and growing a portfolio of accounts throughout North America. While also partnering with and ensuring the long-term success of our customers by understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions to drive sales and profitability. As a key member of our sales department, you will play a vital role in providing commercial expertise and support to our customers, technical teams, and internal stakeholders. You will liaise between customers and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs. This position is also responsible for helping develop and monitor business activities/plans to sustainably grow new and existing market areas.
 Duties/Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Serve as the primary point of contact for all customer needs and communications across North America</li><li>
Build and nurture long-term, strategic relationships with customers, acting as a trusted advisor</li><li>
Understand customer goals and ensure successful solution delivery that aligns with their objectives</li><li>
Coordinate internally across departments to deliver a seamless customer experience</li><li>
Regularly communicate progress on strategic initiatives, projects, and account status updates to stakeholders</li><li>
Analyze and report on account performance, including sales trends, forecasts, and key performance metrics</li><li>
Identify new business opportunities within assigned territory and collaborate with sales leadership to drive growth</li><li>
Manage and resolve high-priority issues or escalations with a sense of urgency and professionalism</li><li>
Ensure account strategies align with broader company goals and market dynamics</li><li>
Contribute to the development of annual sales targets, territory planning, and budgeting processes</li></ul> 
Required Skills/Abilities:<ul><li>
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels</li><li>
Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and customer accounts simultaneously</li><li>
Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a data-driven and customer-centric mindset</li><li>
Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship management capabilities</li><li>
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce)</li><li>
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail</li><li>
Highly organized with strong time management skills</li><li>
Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently when needed</li><li>
Ability to think strategically and contribute to account planning and business development initiatives</li></ul>
Education/Relevant Industry Experience:
Minimum:<ul><li>
BS in Chemistry, Engineering, Business, or a related degree; or 5+ years in a lab or technical role; OR Advanced Degree in relevant field</li><li>
Proven account management or other relevant experience</li><li>
Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs</li><li>
Clean driving record for insurability</li></ul>
Strongly Desired:<ul><li>
Proven account management or other relevant experience, preferably with plastic and/or rubber additives</li><li>
Experience with polymer compounding and converting.</li><li>
Experience with polymer masterbatch and/or recycling a plus</li></ul>
Physical Requirements:<ul><li>
Must be able to travel as needed to meet with customers</li><li>
Long periods of computer usage</li></ul>
