Job Overview We are seeking a talented Photonics Engineer to develop photonic systems for holographic displays in our AI coffee machine project at BalanX Bio. Photonics Engineer Intern

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Optical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing optical systems and components. This role requires a strong foundation in both optical engineering principles and electrical systems, with an emphasis on integrating advanced technologies into practical applications. The Optical Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals are met efficiently and effectively.Duties<ul><li>Design and develop optical systems, including lenses, sensors, and imaging systems.</li><li>Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve issues in optical designs.</li><li>Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate optical components with electrical systems.</li><li>Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks for system design and schematics.</li><li>Perform signal processing and debugging of optical systems using programming languages like Python, C++, or MATLAB.</li><li>Manage project scheduling to ensure timely completion of development milestones.</li><li>Engage in manufacturing processes including surface mount technology (SMT) and soldering of optical components.</li><li>Develop firmware for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) related to optical systems.</li><li>Conduct vision inspection system evaluations to ensure quality standards are met.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Pursuing a BS/MS degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>Proficiency in FPGA design and implementation is preferred.</li><li>Experience with SystemVerilog for hardware description is a plus.</li><li>Familiarity with quantum engineering concepts is desirable.</li><li>Strong mechanical knowledge related to optical system integration.</li><li>Experience using simulation tools such as Simulink for system modeling.</li><li>Knowledge of NEC standards as they relate to electrical systems is beneficial.</li><li>Ability to work with various software tools including MicroStation for design purposes.</li><li>Strong analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis and debugging techniques.</li><li>Familiarity with Arduino platforms for prototyping optical applications is advantageous.
