Job Summary 
 
The Medical Assistant supports patient care by performing clinical and administrative tasks under the supervision of a medical provider. This role assists with medical procedures, maintains exam rooms, facilitates patient intake, and ensures efficient clinic operations while providing excellent service to patients and staff. 
 
Essential Functions<ul><li>
Assists providers with non-invasive medical procedures, such as taking vital signs and preparing patients for exams.</li><li>
Prepares and cleans exam rooms before patient visits and clinical procedures.</li><li>
Performs patient intake duties, including reporting test results, phone triage, and documenting medical information as directed by licensed personnel or providers.</li><li>
Reviews and maintains daily logs and documentation.</li><li>
Supports administrative duties, including pre-registering patients, scheduling appointments, coordinating referrals, verifying insurance eligibility, and managing clinic communications.</li><li>
Maintains an organized workload while providing prompt, courteous, and efficient service to providers, patients, and visitors.</li><li>
Monitors and requisitions supplies and equipment to ensure appropriate inventory levels and functionality.</li><li>
Educates patients on medications, diets, and other health-related topics, addressing questions to ensure understanding.</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned.</li><li>
Maintains regular and reliable attendance.</li><li>
Complies with all policies and standards.</li></ul>
Qualifications<ul><li>
Completion of Medical Assistant program from an accredited school preferred</li><li>
0-1 years of experience in a medical practice setting or completion of externship program required</li></ul>
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities<ul><li>
Knowledge of medical office procedures and patient care techniques.</li><li>
Basic proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office and medical record systems.</li><li>
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide exceptional service to patients and staff.</li><li>
Understanding of medical terminology and infection control practices.</li><li>
Effective time management, organizational, and multitasking skills.</li><li>
Critical thinking abilities to analyze situations and develop appropriate solutions.</li><li>
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.</li></ul>
Licenses and Certifications<ul><li>
BCLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) or American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) required</li></ul>
