<div><p>All library branch staff will rotate Sunday shifts at a location that may not be their home location and may be required to work evenings and Saturdays throughout the year as a part of the normal work schedule. Sunday rotations run from Labor Day through Memorial Day.</p><br>

<div><div><p>Under the direction of the Branch Manager, supervises part-time staff. Takes a lead role in the training, management and evaluation of part-time Library Services Assistant (LSA) and Librarian staff members. Assists customers with their diverse library needs including providing basic information, materials advisory, computer and device assistance. Serves as Person-in-Charge.</p><ul>
<li>Hire, trains, supervises, coaches/mentors and holds part-time LSA and Librarian staff members accountable to performance expectations</li>
<li>Evaluates the performance of part-time LSA and Librarian staff, develops Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), determines merit salary increases, fosters growth and professional development and initiates the corrective action process as needed</li>
<li>Addresses and resolves staff concerns and grievances</li>
<li>Works in collaboration with the branch management team to set performance expectations and customer service goals for staff</li>
<li>Works as a part of the management team to ensure that high quality library services and resources are being delivered to customers</li>
<li>Oversees and develops staff and workflow to ensure that high quality library services and resources are being delivered to customers</li>
<li>Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with peers, including acting as a mentor for other supervisors as needed</li>
<li>Models continuous learning and encourages and supports staff development</li>
<li>Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of BCPL and branch rules, policies and procedures and branch procedures; communicates information and changes to staff and serves as a resource for staff<br>
</li><li>Prepares or updates daily schedules and/or weekly schedules based on operational needs of location and approves timesheets<br>
</li><li>Regularly serves as the Person-in-Charge, which includes de-escalation, handling customer issues, addressing building problems, addressing and documenting security incidents, responding to onsite staff concerns and providing follow-up to branch management</li>
<li>Performs routine collection maintenance duties, including but not limited to shelving, merchandising, shelf reading and processing various reports</li>
<li>Performs all essential circulation functions as determined by branch and system needs and engages in direct customer service</li>
<li>Oversees branch-specific daily operations and tasks such as opening/closing procedures</li>
<li>Assists with programs and outreach events based on operational needs of location from individual to group instruction covering all age groups, both in-person and virtually</li>
<li>Performs duties related to location-specific, specializes services and/or Centers of Excellence</li>
<li>Must be able to meet scheduling requirements by arriving to work on time and staying until the end of one's shift</li>
<li>Must be able to work evenings and weekends and be flexible with one's work schedule to meet daily operational requirements</li>
<li>Must have access to transportation, as needed, to fulfill the responsibilities of the position</li>

Job Requirements:</div>

<div><div><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from an accredited college preferred and three (3) years of increasing responsibility and work experience in a public library or related field. Additional experience beyond the minimum will be considered, year for year, in lieu of a bachelor&rsquo;s degree.</li>
<li>Knowledge of public library services and operations</li>
<li>Meet federal/state requirements to act as a passport application agent (required for locations offering passport services)</li>
<li>Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and push/pull a wheeled cart weighing up to 100 lbs.</li>
<li>Must be able to bend, kneel, crouch and stretch for extended periods of time</li>
<li>Ability to stand and/or walk for up to two (2) hours at a time</li>
<li>Must be able to read small print</li></ul><br>

<div><div>Under the general direction of the Financial Analyst, ensures financial information is recorded accurately. Performs reconciliations of internal accounts. Prepares bank reconciliations. Reviews payroll master file changes, vendor master file changes and reviews bi-weekly payroll registers and periodic accounts payable disbursement registers. Assists in the preparation of the operating budget and capital budget. Assists in all necessary accounting functions that monitor and maintain the daily operation for the Administrative office and branches.<br>
<ul><li>Reconciles bank accounts, cash draw downs, capital budget allocations, and credit card revenue</li>
<li>Creates, reviews and approves journal entries</li>
<li>Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual closing fiscal reports</li>
<li>Assists with Payroll and Timekeeping software database management and biweekly processing</li>
<li>Assists in the Purchasing Card Program for Library staff</li>
<li>Assists in the electronic processing, preparation, and distribution of 1099s, W-2s, 941s, 940s and other filings</li>
<li>Assists independent auditors in preparation of the annual audit</li>
<li>Assists in the compilation and preparation of the Annual Fiscal Operating Budget for the library</li>
<li>Actively supports teamwork</li>
<li>Encourages and supports continuous staff development</li>
<li>Maintains flexibility, good judgement, and confidentiality</li>
