About the Role
In this role, you&rsquo;ll support the daily accounting operations that keep our community bank running smoothly. Working closely with our Controller, you&rsquo;ll help ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability across key financial processes. You&rsquo;ll also gain hands‑on experience in banking‑specific accounting functions, regulatory reporting, and internal controls &mdash; all within a supportive team that invests in your development.<ul><li>
Balancing internal accounts with care to ensure accurate daily reconciliation.</li><li>
Preparing monthly remittance files and supporting secondary market loan balancing.</li><li>
Reviewing and resolving variances in collaboration with accounting leadership.</li><li>
Supporting accounts payable by verifying documentation and posting expenses.</li><li>
Assisting with audit and regulatory tasks to maintain compliance and readiness.</li></ul>
What You&rsquo;ll Do
Your work will help ensure the financial accuracy and operational strength of the Bank. You&rsquo;ll be trusted with confidential information, collaborate with internal teams, and contribute to a culture rooted in ethics, accountability, and service.<ul><li>
Balance general ledger accounts including cash, ATM/ITM, unpostables, and control accounts.</li><li>
Maintain accounts payable workflows by verifying approvals, coding, and receipts.</li><li>
Post daily and monthly entries that support timely financial reporting.</li><li>
Assist with audit documentation and escheatment reviews.</li><li>
Prepare tax filings including sales/use tax and withholding submissions.</li></ul>
What You Bring
We&rsquo;re looking for someone who is detail‑oriented, ethical, and eager to learn &mdash; someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and takes pride in accuracy.<ul><li>
2&ndash;4 years of accounting experience or completion of a post‑secondary accounting program.</li><li>
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on precision.</li><li>
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to team goals.</li><li>
Clear communication skills when working with vendors and colleagues.</li><li>
High ethical standards and respect for confidentiality.</li></ul>
