Account Manager
What You&rsquo;ll Do:
We are a specialized P&amp;C insurance and structural warranty agency serving residential homebuilders nationwide, focused exclusively on the complexities of builder risk and structural warranty programs.
We operate using a proprietary Training Resource for Insurance &amp; Warranty Operations, a best-in-class playbook outlining carrier workflows, ACORD standards, compliance requirements, and operational excellence for builder-focused insurance.
This role is ideal for an insurance professional who values structure, precision, accountability, and continuous improvement within a high-performance team.
Core Purpose
Deliver expert service and strategic guidance within the residential homebuilding sector, driving retention, risk optimization, and operational excellence in a defined, high-complexity niche.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client &amp; Builder Relationship Management<ul><li>
Serve as primary relationship manager for a portfolio of homebuilder and trade contractor accounts.</li><li>
Lead renewals, coverage reviews, and policy strategy meetings.</li><li>
Support new business opportunities, proposals, and loss run analysis.</li><li>
Achieve retention (95% target) and drive revenue growth through cross-sell/up-sell initiatives.</li><li>
Coordinate COIs, additional insureds, endorsements, and lender requirements.</li></ul>
2. Strategic Risk Advisory<ul><li>
Review builder and subcontractor contracts to identify coverage gaps.</li><li>
Serve as a subject-matter expert on builder-specific risk structures.</li><li>
Conduct annual strategy reviews and provide data-driven risk recommendations.</li><li>
Identify emerging construction risk trends.</li></ul>
3. Structural Warranty Program Oversight<ul><li>
Manage warranty program setup, registrations, and administrator coordination.</li><li>
Ensure alignment between warranty and insurance structures.</li><li>
Resolve overlapping coverage issues and track warranty KPIs</li></ul>
4. Service Excellence &amp; Operations<ul><li>
Meet service SLAs (1-day inquiry response; 24 - 48 hour COIs; carrier-timely endorsements).</li><li>
Maintain accurate documentation in the Agency Management System (AMS).</li><li>
Deliver proactive communication and high client satisfaction.</li><li>
Manage endorsements, audits, remarketing, cancellations, and compliance workflows.</li></ul>
5. Technical Servicing &amp; Analytics<ul><li>
Prepare and review ACORD and supplemental applications.</li><li>
Monitor renewals, expirations, retention, and loss trends using AMS dashboards.</li><li>
Support claims coordination and risk mitigation strategies.</li><li>
Leverage approved technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and communication.</li></ul>
6. Leadership &amp; Cultural Expectations<ul><li>
Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal training.</li><li>
Lead or refine segments of the agency playbook.</li><li>
Demonstrate accountability, composure, collaboration, and ownership of client outcomes.</li></ul>
Performance Metrics
Success is measured by:<ul><li>
Client retention and revenue growth</li><li>
SLA compliance and satisfaction scores</li><li>
Accuracy and timeliness of AMS documentation</li><li>
Warranty program proficiency and strategic advisory impact</li><li>
Contributions to training and operational improvement</li></ul>
Required Qualifications<ul><li>
5+ years commercial P&amp;C account management/AE experience (construction preferred).</li><li>
Strong knowledge of GL, Builders Risk, Property, Auto, Umbrella, IM, and WC.</li><li>
Proficiency with ACORD forms and AMS (Momentum NowCerts preferred).</li><li>
Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>
Structural warranty experience.</li><li>
Industry designations (CISR, CIC, CRM, etc.).</li><li>
A track record of retention and growth performance.</li></ul>
