Position Overview:

The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and to create an atmosphere that provides continuity of quality patient care in the emergent hospital environment. This is achieved by providing clear direction and expectations to the clinical and office staff regarding the functional areas in which they work. Ensures all aspects of the hospital are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and compliance with licensing and accreditation standards. The Hospital Administrator / Nursing Director, will be responsible for the oversight of our Zarzamora location on the southeast side of town. 
Essential Job Functions:
<ul><li>Provide leadership, training, supervision, guidance and coaching for hospital employees</li><li>
May serve as the Patient Safety Officer for assigned facilities as granted authority by the Board of Directors and the Medical Executive Committee, to act in the best interest of patients and their care, to monitor and report, where necessary, patient incidents, serious events and infrastructure failures</li><li>
Conduct Root Cause Analyses (RCA) in conjunction with Patient Safety Committee to determine opportunities to mitigate future occurrences related to patient safety using proven techniques including PDCA; develop, monitor and track action plans to improve patient safety</li><li>
Ensure the hospital is in compliance with all established policies and procedures; Federal, state and local regulations; and licensing and accreditation standards</li><li>
Handle patient grievances with adherence to the Emerus values and the principals of patient privacy and security of Protected Health Information (PHI)</li><li>
Assume lead role during facility inspections by licensing and accrediting agencies</li><li>
Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations</li><li>
Oversee all functional aspects of the hospital including Nursing, Lab, Radiology, Pharmacy, Front Office and Dietary</li><li>
Assume fiscal accountability through budgetary oversight</li><li>
Complete and communicate employee performance evaluations</li></ul>
Other Job Functions:
<ul><li>Drive data provided to regional management through the use of clearly defined metrics</li><li>
Monitor facility quality indicators and develop resolution plans by working closely with regional and corporate functions such as safety and infection control</li><li>

Ensure that the business office complies with all established policies, procedures and protocol in regard to the patient process, collections and customer service</li><li>

Basic Qualifications:

Position Overview:

Position responsible for performing advanced indirect and selected direct patient care duties in support of the nursing process in a competent manner under the direction of an RN and for performing related clerical functions, must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles.</div>

 is responsible for maintaining pharmaceutical dispensing functions, including clinical review functions, in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements. The Clinical Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical care and products to all neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including inpatients and outpatients.
 
 
 
 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 
 General Functions:

 Interprets medication orders (verbal and written) and transcribes to computerized patient mediation profiles. Maintains patient medication profiles.

 Compounds and dispenses pharmaceuticals, including sterile, chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition products

 Dispenses controlled substances to patient care areas and maintains records
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintains the formulary by minimizing non-formulary procurements, utilizing therapeutic substitution protocols and promoting rational drug therapy selection.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provides direction to pharmacy personnel and ensures effective operation of the pharmacy department. Verifies the daily activities of pharmacy technicians, interns and residents.
 </li>
 <li>
 Complies with standards or rules and regulations of regulatory agencies: TJC, TX State Board of Pharmacy, TX Department of Health, OSHA, DEA, TX Department of Public Safety, EEOC / TEC.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensures safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures and protocols
 </li>
 <li>
 Detects and reports suspected adverse drug reactions and medication occurrences.
 </li>
 <li>
 Utilizes formulary initiatives and clinical review to provide adequate pain management for the patient.
 </li>
 <li>
 Utilizes principles of drug dosing in the pediatric and neonatal patient to provide medications to patients in correct doses and formulations
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitors drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies and appropriateness of drug and dose.

 <li>
 Adjusts dosages or choice of medications based on decreased renal clearances in the elderly or other patients with compromised renal function.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assists with pharmacokinetics consult service and drug dosing per BHS protocol
 </li>
 <li>
 Reviews/interprets culture and susceptibility data for antibiotic appropriateness and recommends changes, as needed.
 </li>
 <li>
 Reads extracts and interprets information in patient charts.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provides clinical consultations and clarification to practitioners. Suggests appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to medical staff.

 <li>
 Provides drug information to the professional staff, patients and families.
 </li>
 <li>
 Participates in the development and presentation of orientation, education, and training programs to the pharmacy, medical, nursing, and other staffs.

 Follows up with other staff as a team to complete unresolved interventions.
