We&rsquo;re looking for a detail-oriented <b>Quality Assurance Technician</b> to join our food manufacturing team&mdash;someone with at least one year of lab experience who&rsquo;s ready to grow in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. <p>
The Quality Technician will perform routine quality checks, collect samples, conduct laboratory and in-process testing, and document results to ensure consistent, high-quality pasta products.</p>
<p>
Shift hours: Monday - Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm.</p><br>
<p>
Inspections/Auditing:
</p><p>Participate in and perform internal audits for ISO, food safety, and quality requirements. Share results in documented reports as well as food safety meetings.
<br>
Perform Good Manufacturing Practices, Brittle Plastics, and Foreign Material inspections. Report results, create Quality Work Orders to correct issues, and verify completion.<br>
Perform line inspections after sanitations and preventative maintenance. Follow-up with appropriate departments to correct issues before signing the line over to production.<br>
Perform inspection and swab testing of CIP system before turning over to production.<br>
Participate in and eventually independently perform internal audits.<br>
Assist Quality Specialist as needed.</p><p><br>
Communication and Collaboration:</p>
<p>
Collaborate with manufacturing operators to prevent defects and, when defects are found, seek out and remove causes.<br>
Communicate progress and issues within Quality department across shifts.<br>
Communicate to production and other departments product holds, inspection results, and other issues that concern quality and food safety.<br>
Serve as the contact person for production and keep supervisors informed of changes and issues that may arise.<br>
Communicate to the Quality Manager results and observations that may not be able to be corrected independently.<br>
Develop and review Quality and Food Safety documents. Train others on the changes and maintain the correct version in the database.<br>
Manage corrective actions in the database.<br>
</p><p>Testing:</p>
<p>
Test samples of finished product for correct date coding, cook quality, dimensions, and other quality parameters following specified procedures.<br>
Review and verify food safety records are in compliance before releasing product and in general.<br>
Hold product and raw material that does not satisfactorily meet specifications.<br>
Report supplier non-conformities to corporate Supplier Quality Assurance. Issue a corrective action when necessary.<br>
Perform routine maintenance on lab equipment.<br>
Test samples from commissioning of new product/equipment and experiments. Summarize/report results in a simple and understandable format.</p><p><br>
<b>
Education and Experience:</b></p>
<p>
A high school diploma/GED is required for this position, and some college level chemistry courses would be helpful.<br>
<b>1 year of lab or quality-related experience</b> (food manufacturing preferred but not required)<br>
The individual must possess basic algebra/general math skills.<br>
The individual must be an organized self-starter who has the ability to manage time and multi-task while working without constant, direct supervision.<br>
Excellent knowledge of computers or experience with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, is required.<br>
Experience in a food manufacturing environment requiring a food safety scheme (FSSC22000, SQF, BRC) and following FSMA is preferred<br>
Troubleshooting, problem solving and decision making skills are required.</p><br>
