Barnes &amp; Thornburg LLP is seeking a Patent Prosecution Engineering Associate to join our firm and highly regarded, nationally ranked Intellectual Property Department. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications. A degree and background in mechanical engineering is required.<h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Candidate Qualifications:</h2><ul><li>
1-3 years of patent prosecution experience required</li><li>
Strong background in drafting and prosecuting patent applications</li><li>
Mechanical engineering degree required</li><li>
Registered and in good standing with the USPTO</li><li>
Admitted to practice in (IN, IL, MI or GA) or eligible for admission to the state bar</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Preferred Experience:</h2><ul><li>
Managing patent portfolios</li><li>
Preparing patent opinion letters</li><li>
Advising on non-infringement and invalidity issues</li><li>
Conducting patent due diligence for corporate transactions and M&amp;A matters</li></ul>

Salary: 
The base salary range for this position is $215,000 &ndash; $250,000 (commensurate with experience). Performance-based bonus eligible.
