The role of the Pre-Algebra/Algebra 2 Teacher (SET) is to ensure the day-to-day exceptional education of students by preparing and facilitating subject specific lesson plans. Required Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities
The Founding Biology Teacher will be responsible for delivering the advanced and rigorous BASIS Biology curriculum to middle and/or high school students. Specific duties include:
<ul><li>Curriculum Delivery: Teach Biology courses, which may include Foundations of Biology, AP Biology, or other specialized science courses, utilizing an engaging, content-rich, and effective instructional approach.
</li></ul><ul><li>Student Engagement: Foster a classroom environment that encourages intellectual curiosity, scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and a deep appreciation for the biological sciences.
</li></ul><ul><li>Assessment and Feedback: Develop and administer robust assessments to monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents.
</li></ul><ul><li>Laboratory Instruction: Design and oversee hands-on, inquiry-based laboratory experiments and activities that reinforce theoretical concepts and teach proper lab safety and techniques.
</li></ul><ul><li>Founding Team Collaboration: Play a pivotal role in establishing the school's culture, contributing to school-wide initiatives, and collaborating with fellow founding teachers to create a cohesive and supportive academic community.
</li></ul><ul><li>Professional Development: Actively participate in professional learning opportunities and school-wide meetings, continually seeking to improve instructional practices.
</li></ul><ul><li>Student Support: Serve as an advisor or mentor, guiding students in their academic and personal growth within the BASIS model.
</li></ul>Qualifications
<ul><li>A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major or significant coursework in Biology or a related scientific field (e.g., Biochemistry, Life Sciences). A Master's degree is highly desirable.
</li></ul><ul><li>Prior teaching experience in Biology at the middle and/or high school level is strongly preferred. Experience teaching advanced placement (AP) or honors-level courses is a significant asset.
</li></ul><ul><li>A profound passion for the subject matter and an ability to convey complex biological concepts in a clear, compelling, and engaging manner.
</li></ul><ul><li>Exceptional classroom management skills and an ability to create an organized, highly focused, and positive learning environment.
</li></ul><ul><li>Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
</li></ul><ul><li>A collaborative spirit and a commitment to working as part of a dynamic, founding team.
