<div>The Quality Assurance Specialist will support the space program in the MSFC Safety Mission Assurance Booster Resident Office at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, FL. 
RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>
Provide support on all quality areas to include Quality Plans, Surveillance Plans, Inspection Instructions, First Article Inspections, and Nonconformance resolutions.</li><li>
Provide technical reviews for assurance of quality requirements compliance during hardware production and manufacturing processes.</li><li>
Perform process surveillance using witnessing/monitoring techniques and verify test result/documentation of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies per approved inspection documents/specification requirements.</li><li>
Maintain current, company and customer training and certifications to maintain a quality inspection stamp and meet stamp warranty expectations.</li><li>
Work with company and customer personnel to resolve inspection questions and communicate technical issues to project engineers to ensure compliance with final product specification requirements.</li><li>
Perform accurate mechanical, physical, and visual inspections, monitor and/or perform nondestructive test/evaluation, perform process surveillance using witnessing/monitoring techniques and verify test result/documentation of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies per approved inspection documents/specification requirements.</li><li>
Knowledge of higher-level quality assurance (ISO/AS) system requirement documents and can interpret and apply QA system level requirements while performing all quality assurance duties.</li><li>
May be required to initiate corrective action reports, document/report inspection results and monitor corrective actions implementation for effectiveness.</li><li>
Maintain current, company and customer training and certifications. Specifically, SMA STEP 1 and NDE Level II certifications.</li><li>
Work as part of an integrated team with Bastion Technologies and NASA SMA personnel to resolve surveillance and examination result questions and communicate technical issues to project engineers to ensure compliance.</li>

REQUIRED:

This position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information.</li><li>
Must have a High School or equivalent .</li><li>
Must have 10+ years of recent and related work experience.</li><li>
Possess the ability to read blueprints, technical charts, and specification sheets.</li><li>
Possess the ability to prepare written documentation of inspection results using company/customer forms or software.</li><li>
Must be knowledgeable in AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements.</li><li>
Candidates should be comfortable with adapting to changing environments (work assignments, customers) quickly in support of the mission.</li><li>
Candidate must be willing to perform Inspection/Witness of Vendors hardware, as well as perform General QA Inspection and surveillance as normal day-to-day operations.</li></ul> 
DESIRED:<ul><li>
The ideal candidate will have a familiarity with NASA Quality Systems and procedures.</li><li>
Knowledge of KSC/VAB and/or Launch Vehicle manufacturing and/or aerospace related experience.</li><li>
Multiple of the following certifications: Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Penetrant Testing (PT) Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Radiographic Testing (RT) and Eddy Current Testing (ET) minimum Level I desired.
</li><li>Previous experience working with aerospace flight critical hardware in an ESD/FOD sensitive environments, witnessing critical quality assurance and assembly operations of various components and complex assemblies.</li><li>
Mechanical Inspector with experience utilizing calipers, micrometers, optical measurement devices and other shop tools.
</li><li>Experience in creating written reports for inspections/S&amp;MA surveillance assignments.</li></ul> 
WORK LOCATION:
<ul><li>This position is located onsite; some travel may be required.</li><li>
Schedules are subject to change based on the requirements of the position and/or customer needs.</li><li>
This position will require periodic shift work and (paid) overtime.</li></ul> 
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:
All Bastion employees must be able to pass a national agency check and some positions require clearance and will require an extensive background verification/check process. 
DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING REQUIRED:
All Bastion employees must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and are required to participate in periodic random drug and alcohol screenings.

Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMS and SHAREPOINT.</li><li>

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.</li><li>
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).</li><li>
Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.</li></ul>
