Position SummaryThe Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting, portfolio accounting, treasury management, and financial reporting activities for the equipment finance company. This role ensures the integrity of financial records across QuickBooks, Aspire, Bill.com, and bank platforms, maintains strong internal controls, and provides leadership over servicing-related accounting operations.The Controller manages the month-end close process, reconciliations, portfolio accounting for loans and leases (including syndications), and supervises the Finance/Accounting Specialist supporting mid to junior level finance, accounting, servicing and treasury management responsibilitiesKey Responsibilities<ul><li>Own monthly close process, reconciliation process, financial statements, and variance explanations.</li><li>Maintain accurate general ledger and portfolio accounting across QuickBooks and Aspire; ensuring all differences are researched and resolved timely.</li><li>Perform and oversee daily (preferred) or weekly reconciliations of operating, lease, and paying agent accounts.</li><li>Prepare and approve journal entries, accruals, deferrals, and syndication-related entries.</li><li>Oversee treasury management activities including cash monitoring, allocation, and controls.</li><li>Ensure accurate accounting for loans, leases, payoffs, restructures, write-offs, and syndicated participations.</li><li>Manage Bill.com AP, spend controls, budgets, approvals, and expense workflows.</li><li>Supervise and mentor the Finance/Accounting Specialist supporting mid to junior level finance, accounting, servicing and treasury management responsibilities</li><li>Maintain strong internal controls over cash, servicing, journal entries, and approvals.</li><li>Serve as accounting liaison with banks, paying agents, capital partners, and external advisors as needed.</li><li>Identify process improvements and document procedures to support scalability and audit readiness.</li></ul>Leadership Responsibilities<ul><li>Provide daily guidance and oversight to Finance/Accounting Support Staff.</li><li>Establish clear priorities, performance expectations, and accountability.</li><li>Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with operations, sales, and portfolio management.</li></ul>Systems &amp; ToolsQuickBooksGeneral ledger and financial reportingAspireLoan and lease portfolio accounting and servicingBill.comAccounts payable, spend management, and budgetingMicrosoft Office SuiteExcel expertise requiredBank FinancialPaying agent servicing accountsMonday.comWorkflow and task managementSharePointDocument management and internal controlsQualifications✓ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred✓ Strong understanding of loan and lease accounting, cash management, and reconciliations✓ 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in equipment finance, lending, or asset-based finance✓ High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple prioritiesSuccess MetricsTimely and accurate month-end closeZero unresolved reconciliation differencesReliable treasury reporting and cash controlsAccurate portfolio accounting across systemsEffective leadership of servicing supportPay: $95,000.00 - $145,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Flexible schedule</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Opportunities for advancement</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Parental leave</li><li>Professional development assistance</li></ul>People with a criminal record are encouraged to applyWork Location: In person
