We are in search of a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team of experienced clinical and non-clinical staff. This position will be 5 days per week working with patients and performing administrative duties. Experience in Occupational Health is a plus but we will provide training to the right candidate.This position is responsible for performing routine clinical and administrative duties under the direct supervision of the Office Manager and Physician owner. The MA will interact with staff and patients to optimize workflow efficiency, serve as patient liaison by helping patients feel at ease in the health center and often explain physician instructions to patients. The duties of this position very widely and the Medical Assistant will specialize in certain medical assisting tasks which they will be trained for.This position will also be cross trained to work at our front desk answering telephones, scheduling appointments and completing chart set up. This position is great for candidate who wants to expand their knowledge an skill set as a Medical Assistant learning and using many new tasks.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:&middot; Escorting patients to exam rooms&middot; Preparing, cleaning, and stocking exam rooms between patients&middot; Pulling, documenting and accurately filing patient charts&middot; Sterilization of instruments and equipment between patients&middot; Weighing and measuring patients, as well as taking vital signs&middot; Assisting physicians with medical procedures&middot; Accurately conduct patient physicals (including drug screens, vaccines, audiograms, vision, EKG), processing paperwork, and reporting results to client companies in a timely fashion.&middot; Answering phones, scheduling appointments with pleasant demeanor&middot; Preparing charts, cleaning, and stocking forms between patients&middot; Adherence to work schedule with minimal unapproved absences&middot; Must have reliable transportation to work as well as attend off-site training and company on-site services&middot; Blood draws and screening&middot; Data input of drug screens&middot; Blood borne Pathogens (follow up of labs for source and patient in timely manner)&middot; Medical supply ordering and distribution of supplies&middot; Administering vaccinations and PPD plantsSKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED&middot; Certification from an accredited MA training program or equivalent. (will consider training applicants with certifications is Phlebotomy, CRMA and CNA also)&middot; Prior work experience in a patient/customer service setting&middot; Excellent verbal communication skills&middot; Attention to detail and ability to prioritize well&middot; Data entry skills and ability to multi-task&middot; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision&middot; Flexibility and ability to work well within a team&middot; Maintain positive attitude and provide excellent customer service&middot; HIPAA/ HiTech compliance procedure&middot; Ability to tolerate episodic high stress environmentWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Able to properly lift 25 pounds or less frequently and 10-15 pounds overhead occasionally. The highest point of any lift &ndash;overhead; the lowest point of any lift &ndash;the floor. Able to perform motor skills such as grasping, finger manipulation, pinching, bending, reaching out, kneel, squat, twisting, turning, reaching up, wrist turning/torqueing for up to 8 hours per day. Able to stand and remain on feet for up to 8 hours per day.
