January 2026, Beacon Clinic has open our doors in Boise, Idaho to offer Medical Oncology and Hematology services. We are incredibly excited to bring unparalleled patient care to the Treasure Valley community and the Financial Counselor position below will be a critical position as we launch our office.</p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><p><b><br>
Duties/Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><p>
Serves as support to patients and their family members to assure patients have access to all available funding, working with private as well as governmental agencies (i.e., private insurance, HMO/PPO&rsquo;s, Medicare, obtaining grants, copay cards).</p></li><li><p>
Determines patients&rsquo; ability to pay and secure repayment arrangement with patients while following Beacon&rsquo;s established polices.</p></li><li><p>
Provides estimates to patients for planned treatments.</p></li><li><p>
Identifies patient needs and expectations, and strives to exceed them.</p></li><li><p>
Actively participates in and encourages others to utilize creative and innovative approaches to accomplish tasks.</p></li><li><p>
Demonstrates responsibility for ongoing personal development, professional growth, and continuing education.</p></li><li><p>
Follows policy and procedures regarding financial screening, arrangements, and third-party demands.</p></li><li><p>
Exercises problem solving skills independently and update system to resolve any patient account delay.</p></li><li><p>
Handles all patient/family contact in a courteous, professional manner with sensitivity to individual needs.</p></li><li><p>
Receives and places telephone calls in a skillful manner using appropriate etiquette.</p></li><li><p>
Handles all telephone requests with courtesy, accuracy, and respect for confidentiality.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
Skills/Abilities:</b></p><ul><li><p>
Compassionate and caring bedside manner.</p></li><li><p>
Strong written and verbal communication skills.</p></li><li><p>
Ability to work extremely well in a group setting.</p></li><li><p>
Ability to interpret billing manuals, insurance and/or other third-party coverage.</p></li><li><p>
Understanding of the third-party review process, payer funding and authorization procedures, government/state payers, including eligibility factors strongly preferred.</p></li><li><p>
Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology is required.</p></li><li><p>
Must obtain the ability to prioritize workload and possess ability to meet tight time frames.</p></li><li><p>
Must obtain the ability to work under minimal supervision.</p></li><li><p>
Must obtain the ability to concentrate on detail in the middle of other activities.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
Education:</b></p><ul><li><p>
A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.</p></li><li><p>
Financial Counseling experience highly encouraged, and most helpful in being successful in this position.</p></li><li><p>
Two years of experience and working knowledge of all patients accounting functions, including pre-authorizations, eligibility and self-pay estimates is strongly preferred.</p></li></ul><p><b>
