Pay: From $27.00 per hour (DOE)About Us: Becker &amp; House, PLLC is a boutique law firm specializing in estate planning, probate, trust administration, and litigation. We are seeking a full-time, highly motivated paralegal/legal assistant to join our team and support our attorneys with a range of administrative and legal tasks.Job Overview: You will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys with various administrative and legal duties. Your responsibilities will include:<ul><li>Maintain and organize legal files, including opening new matters and ensuring proper document management within the firm&rsquo;s system.</li><li>Assist in proofreading, preparing, filing, and serving discovery and pleadings in multiple courts.</li><li>Coordinate calendars, calculate and schedule deadlines, court appearances, depositions, mediations, client meetings, and conference calls.</li><li>Communicate with process servers, newspapers, and other entities to ensure timely process and deadline compliance.</li><li>Communicate with attorneys, clients, and other external parties regarding file documents and other clerical matters.</li><li>Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), including PDF conversion and editing, to manage documents and correspondence.</li><li>Assist in trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, witness materials, and other pre-trial documents.</li><li>Prepare drafts of basic pleadings and locate appropriate templates as needed.</li><li>Process and follow up on subpoenas for various records, including medical and business records.</li><li>Communicate with witnesses and experts via phone and email, ensuring materials are organized for expert witness review, and update firm records as necessary.</li><li>Review, analyze, and organize document production from clients, opposing parties, and co-counsel.</li><li>Share administrative office responsibilities, including answering phones, seating clients, and managing day-to-day office tasks.</li></ul>Who We're Looking For: We need a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
