The Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center (BSFHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that serves all of the primary health care needs of families in the heart of North and Central Brooklyn. We are seeking a Receptionist/Switchboard Operator to join our team.
 
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to: 
<ul>
<li>Answers high-volume calls on a multi-line phone system; screens and directs calls, takes detailed messages and/or forwards telephone calls to appropriate physician or team member.</li>
<li>Answering switchboard of 200-300 calls per day. Most calls require some information to be extracted from the caller in order to determine call placement.as required</li>
<li>Schedules patient appointments.</li>
<li>Inputs and verifies demographics and insurance in EMR.</li>
<li>Meet and greets patients with positive attitude.</li>
<li>Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to prepare and forwarding mail, scanning, photocopying, and faxing as required.</li>
<li>Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues, comply with HIPPA rules and regulations.</li>
<li>Performs other related duties as assigned by physician, supervisor, or management.</li>
</ul>
Education/Experience Required: 
<ul>
<li>HS/GED; Experience could replace education requirements</li>
<li>Preferred 2-5 years of relevant experience</li>
<li>Strong proficiency in MS Office Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel</li>
</ul>
Other Related Skills/Experience: 
<ul>
<li>Excellent interpersonal skills must demonstrate professionalism, courteous and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, team members, families and significant others</li>
<li>Display courtesy, tact and patience with all members of the team members and extended community</li>
</ul>
