We are looking for a reliable and safety-driven CDL-A driver to operate as our Yard Lead to oversee daily yard operations at our Roanoke, Texas location. In this key leadership role, you&rsquo;ll coordinate the movement, staging, and organization of all trucks, trailers, and equipment&mdash;ensuring efficient operations and compliance with company, FMCSA and DOT standards.
You&rsquo;ll serve as the go-to person for yard activities, working closely with dispatch, drivers, and mechanics to keep equipment moving safely and efficiently.<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
What You&rsquo;ll Do</h3><ul><li>
Lead and oversee all yard operations during assigned shifts.</li><li>
Assign, coordinate, and monitor trailer spotting, staging, and equipment movement.</li><li>
Track trailer inventory and communicate availability to dispatch and fleet managers.</li><li>
Perform daily yard checks and maintain accurate location records.</li><li>
Optimize yard layout for safety, efficiency, and accessibility.</li><li>
Collaborate with dispatch and mechanics to ensure trailers are ready for use (repairs, inspections, loading).</li><li>
Utilize proper PPE to climb on trailers for inspection or for loading.</li><li>
Train and supervise yard staff, ensuring proper equipment use and adherence to safety protocols.</li><li>
Conduct safety checks and enforce OSHA and DOT compliance.</li><li>
Report equipment damage, unsafe conditions, or delays to management.</li><li>
Maintain yard cleanliness and organization.</li><li>
Ensure dress codes are followed for both Bee Line and any customer sites is followed at all times.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
What We&rsquo;re Looking For</h3><ul><li>
High school diploma or GED (additional logistics or transportation training is a plus).</li><li>
CDL-A required.</li><li>
At least 2 years of experience in a yard, terminal, or dispatch role within the trucking industry.</li><li>
Leadership or team lead experience strongly preferred.</li><li>
Knowledge of yard management systems, trailer spotting, and DOT safety standards.</li><li>
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Ability to work outdoors and perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Physical Requirements</h3><ul><li>
Lift up to 50 lbs and climb in/out of trucks and trailers.</li><li>
Climb up to 12 ft. to secure trailer covers.</li><li>
Stand and walk for extended periods.</li><li>

Yard Lead

Bee Line is seeking a Driving Lead to support our daily trucking operations by providing strong leadership, coordination, and communication between drivers, dispatch, and fleet management. This hands-on role is key to maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant transportation activities while fostering a positive and professional driving culture.
What You&rsquo;ll Do:<ul><li>
Serve as the primary liaison between drivers and dispatch.</li><li>
Oversee daily driver assignments, scheduling, and route coordination.</li><li>
Monitor driver performance to ensure adherence to FMCSA and DOT safety regulations.</li><li>
Assist drivers with load details, delivery instructions, and issue resolution.</li><li>
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip compliance checks and verify documentation accuracy.</li><li>
Support onboarding, mentoring, and continuous training for new and current drivers.</li><li>
Review hours-of-service logs, ELD compliance, and vehicle inspection reports.</li><li>
Communicate any service delays, safety concerns, or equipment issues to management promptly.</li><li>
Use required PPE to safely inspect and climb on top of tankers.</li><li>
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalism.</li><li>
Participate in accident or incident investigations and corrective action follow-up.</li><li>
Assist the Fleet Manager with maintaining driver files, certifications, and performance records.</li><li>
Ensure dress code compliance at Bee Line and customer sites.</li><li>
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in efficiency and safety.</li></ul>
What We&rsquo;re Looking For:<ul><li>
High school diploma or GED preferred; additional training in transportation or logistics preferred.</li><li>
Minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience in the trucking industry.</li><li>
Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record.</li><li>
Prior leadership, training, or dispatch experience a plus.</li><li>
Strong understanding of FMCSA and DOT regulations.</li><li>
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.</li><li>
Proficiency with ELD systems, dispatch software, and basic computer applications.</li></ul>
Physical Requirements:<ul><li>
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb in/out of trucks and trailers.</li><li>
Ability to climb up to 12 ft. to secure covers on trailers.</li><li>
Ability to sit, stand, climb, and drive for extended periods.</li><li>
Comfortable working outdoors and in varied weather conditions.</li></ul>

This position is based in a transportation and yard environment with daily interaction among drivers, dispatch, and maintenance teams. Safety, efficiency, and professionalism are always top priorities.
