Role Overview
Beehive Industries is looking for an energetic and driven Principal Engineer, Controls Software to design, develop, tune and test gas turbine engine control system software and test gas turbine engine control system sensors, actuators, and accessories. This role will partner with various cross-functional leadership on a daily basis facilitating development and delivery of the overall engine control system.
What You'll Do...<ul><li>
Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of an aviation engine control system using gas turbine control laws and functional modeling/simulation. This includes setting software requirements, writing engine software code/creating block diagrams, analyzing test vectors, predicting and simulating engine operation with computer tools and component tests. Formally issue the engine control software under configuration control for an engine control system.</li><li>
Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of the hardware for an aviation engine control system. This includes setting engine control hardware requirements, designing actuators and pumps for the engine control, integrating and iterating with engine software design and analysis, predicting and simulating engine performance or control logic with computer tools and component tests, and formally issuing the hardware design for an engine control system.</li><li>
Complete control law tuning in the time and frequency domain to achieve system response and stability metrics. Assess and modify control system models to match engine and actuator dynamics during testing.</li><li>
Experience designing, procuring, and validating electronic engine control (EEC) and full authority digital engine control (FADEC) systems in addition to sensors, fuel systems, lube components, and other auxiliary systems. Lead software and hardware in the loop simulator design, commissioning and integration testing. Integrate engine performance and control system models into the hardware/software simulator to predict and validate engine performance and operability. Support setting software requirements and designs which enable the engine control hardware to meet requirements.</li><li>
Lead engine system or component test programs from a controls software and hardware perspective. Set test objectives and limits, instrumentation and test data requirements, and test planning to validate the engine design.</li><li>
Ensure the engine meets overall requirements from a design perspective. Coordinate with performance, operability, transient, mechanical and aero engineers to optimize the overall engine control system.</li><li>
Lead design reviews and coordinate with other disciplines in design, performance, controls, stress and life, additive manufacturing, materials and system analysis</li><li>
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments</li><li>
Participate in the research and development of technologies and methodologies associated with additive design. Advise on ways to improve product design through the exploitation of additive manufacturing.</li><li>
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering best practices</li></ul>
You Have...<ul><li>
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college</li><li>
At least 12+ years of experience in engine control systems</li><li>
Strong understanding of engine control software tools (Matlab, etc.)</li><li>
Experience working with additive manufacturing technologies and familiarity with design for additive manufacturing principles</li><li>
Passion for additive technology and willingness to challenge current design limitations to further exploit the benefits of additive capability</li><li>
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills</li><li>
Demonstrated problem solving ability and strong program leadership and execution skills</li><li>
Proven self-starter and quick learner who can work in fast-paced cross-functional teams</li><li>
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.</li><li>

Role Overview 
We are seeking a Lead Engineer, Engine Systems who will execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of turbomachinery components, assemblies, and systems integration using sound engineering principles while meeting industry standards and program requirements. This includes evaluation of the effects of the overall system (interfaces, model-based systems engineering, system trades, etc.) on components and assemblies and driving resolution to systems level challenges. 
What You'll Do...<ul><li>
Lead strategy on resolving complex systems level challenges and interdependencies and lead a cross-functional team of engineers from aerodynamic, thermal, mechanical, material, and manufacturing disciplines to execute analytical, design, and programmatic milestones as required from the business.</li><li>
Create design practices and processes for the engine design, assembly, and test phases of a program. Lead technical root cause / corrective action initiatives and implement changes regarding lessons learned.</li><li>
Interface with customers to develop system level solutions throughout the development program</li><li>
Adapt to the needs of the team and program to ensure execution of milestones and objectives</li><li>
Lead design reviews and coordinate with other disciplines in design, performance, stress and life, additive manufacturing, materials and system analysis</li><li>
Set test objectives and limits, instrumentation and test data requirements, and test planning to execute component validation</li><li>
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments</li><li>
Lead methodologies to develop new technologies to optimize the overall aerodynamic performance of a gas turbine with additive manufacturing. Participate in the research and development of technologies and methodologies associated with additive design to drive further capability in gas turbine systems.</li><li>

Work with suppliers to procure hardware and resolve producibility and quality issues</li></ul>
You have...<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college</li><li>
At least 8+ years of experience in gas turbine design, test, and/or development</li><li>
At least 5 years of experience working in a systems engineering position</li><li>
Strong understanding of design software tools as used in modelling (CAD) and analysis (CFD, FEM)</li><li>
Experience working with gas turbines for aviation product applications from a mechanical and aero design perspective.</li><li>
Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing</li><li>
Experience working with additive manufacturing technologies and familiarity with design for additive manufacturing principles.</li><li>
Passion for additive technology and willingness to challenge current design limitations to further exploit the benefits of additive capability.</li><li>
