Behavioral Treatment Services provides a continuum of specialized adult offender substance abuse and other treatment modalities. BTS is at the forefront of Colorado’s behavioral health and criminal justice programs and initiatives. BTS strives to provide a space toward client healing, reduce criminal recidivism, assist clients in working towards personal growth, and collaborate with the system and client to work towards mutually agreeable goals.
 
BTS provides clinical services, court related services, and specialized programs for adults involved in the criminal justice system. BTS provides services at community corrections sites (including residential treatment programs) and outpatient programs across Colorado.

Title: Peer Support Specialist
 Pay: $21.22/hr
 Location: Lakewood & Golden, CO
 Hours: Part Time: Tues - Thursday: 3pm-7pm & Friday: 8:30am-2:30pm
 
OVERVIEW
 
Support clients by assisting them to succeed in the program through conducting client orientations,
 
facilitating sessions, and supporting the therapeutic milieu. Attends specialty courts to outreach and
 
recruit program participants.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
<ul>
<li>Support, promote and adhere to BTS’s mission, values and Code of Conduct.</li>
<li>Reflect BTS’s commitment to treating all persons with dignity and respect.</li>
<li>Maintain confidentiality of client and company information.</li>
<li>Carry out all duties/responsibilities in accordance with Company values, policies and procedures, applicable laws and contractual obligations.</li>
<li>Assist with initial program intake and orienting new clients.</li>
<li>Participate in specialty court dockets, including outreach, planning client pro-social events, client and court support, and client recruitment.</li>
<li>Facilitate support groups, including but not limited to, initial orientation, continued care, peer run groups, individual support and care planning to assist clients in overcoming dependencies, developing pro-social behavior or making other appropriate behavior or cognitive changes.</li>
<li>Report clinical concerns and high-risk persons and safety issues as they occur to other program staff and supervisor at staff report times. Follow clinical direction.</li>
<li>Orders and picks up supplies/food for meetings as directed.</li>
<li>Complete timely and accurate required documentation in all areas.</li>
<li>Attend treatment team, clinical staffing and other required meetings.</li>
<li>Drive personal car to court, jail and/or other sites as required, including in adverse weather.</li>
<li>Attend required trainings and meetings, apply skills and knowledge.</li>
<li>Regular and predictable attendance.</li>
<li>Good steward of Company human, financial and capital resources.</li>
<li>Participate effectively as a team member through communication, cooperation, information sharing and problem solving.</li>
<li>Any other tasks or duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
 
<ul>
<li>Personal lived experience with drug/alcohol abuse, criminal justice involvement and/or mental health problems with at least a minimum 1 year of current and sustained recovery.</li>
<li>Must hold a valid CPFS/COPA credential in the state of Colorado</li>
</ul>
QUALIFICATIONS
 
<ul>
<li>Computer skills -- Ability to enter data, generate reports and create communications from variety of software programs and databases, including EHRs.</li>
<li>Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and in either one-on-one or group settings.</li>
<li>Ability to remain calm in and de-escalate stressful situations.</li>
<li>Ability to organize and manage time to complete work and meet deadlines.</li>
<li>Detail focused/oriented.</li>
<li>Knowledge of the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.</li>
<li>Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Company staff, stakeholders, and with diverse client base.</li>
<li>Cannot be under current criminal justice supervision or have outstanding court cases, warrants, fees, etc.</li>
</ul>

Clinical Therapist is responsible for providing clinical assessment evaluations, individual and group therapy, education groups, case management and follow up support to clients to help them become more successful in the community and to promote public safety. Complete a variety of required documentation.

 Salary: $57,845/yr (based on licensure)
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

<li>Conduct mental health and substance use evaluations to assess client's appropriateness for program, assessing the need for on-going treatment or referral to other agencies.</li>
<li>Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to assist clients in overcoming dependencies, developing pro-social behavior or making other appropriate behavior or cognitive changes.</li>
<li>Collaborate with client to develop, implement, and revise individualized treatment plans</li>
<li>Encourage clients to develop and use skills and strategies for confronting their problems in a constructive manner.</li>
<li>Follows professional ethical standards and agency policies and procedures regarding risk assessment, safety planning, and crisis intervention</li>
<li>Review and evaluate clients' progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment and care plans.</li>
<li>Integrate Motivational Interviewing into all aspects of counseling.</li>
<li>Provide psycho-education classes and other educational presentations on substance abuse, mental illness.</li>
<li>Complete timely and accurate documentation and reports in all areas including, but not limited to: counselor's admit notes, assessments, daily charting, weekly clinical staffing notes, and discharge summaries.</li>
<li>Communicate with families, probation/parole officers, and community agencies regarding treatment, discharge and aftercare plans.</li>
<li>Attend treatment team, jail program staff meetings, clinical staffing and other required meetings.</li>
<li>Drive personal car to court, jail and/or other sites as required, including in adverse weather</li>
<li>Attend required trainings and meetings, apply skills and knowledge.</li>
<li>Regular and predictable attendance.</li>

Minimum Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field;</li>
<li>Certification as a Certified Addictions Counselor II (CAC II), CAC III preferred</li>
<li>Must be a Colorado registered (DORA) LPCC, LSW, LMFTC or NLC</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to effectively use clinical reasoning techniques and clinical judgment when</li>
</ul>
applying a range of appropriate assessment techniques, such as mental status assessment, diagnosis,
 dynamic formulation, and potential treatment planning.
 <ul>
<li>Experience with applying the characteristics and foundations of behavioral therapy, which focuses on</li>
</ul>
changing patients' unwanted or negative behavior.
 <ul>
<li>Familiarity with types of psychotherapy for individuals or groups according to</li>
</ul>
psychoanalytic/psychodynamic, cognitive/behavioral, humanistic/experiential, systemic/family
 methods and other appropriate psychological therapies.
 <ul>
<li>Familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities</li>
<li>Excellent communications and interpersonal skills</li>
<li>Ability to enter data into variety of computer software</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>LPC or LAC Certification</li>
<li>Licensed clinician in respective discipline: LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LAC</li>
<li>Experience working in a substance abuse treatment program with a diverse population;</li>
<li>Experience providing substance abuse treatment to adult offenders;</li>
<li>Familiar with evidence-based treatment models;</li>
<li>Excellent communications and interpersonal skills;</li>
<li>Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus</li>
</ul>
