The Role</b></h2>
<p>
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a groundworks and civil engineering project involving extensive site preparation, excavation works, reinforced concrete foundations, drainage installations, external works, and associated infrastructure.</p>
<p>
Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.</p>
<p>
This role requires a proactive leader with strong experience in groundworks, reinforced concrete structures, and subcontractor management, capable of coordinating multiple trades and ensuring successful project delivery from inception through to handover.</p>
<h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Key Responsibilities</b></h2>
<ul><li>Manage all day-to-day site activities, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.</li>
<li>Oversee all groundworks operations, including excavation, drainage, ducting, service installations, hard landscaping, and external works.</li>
<li>Manage the construction of reinforced concrete foundations, pad foundations, formwork, and associated structural elements.</li>
<li>Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, direct labour, plant operators, and suppliers to ensure programme milestones are achieved.</li>
<li>Maintain strict compliance with Health &amp; Safety legislation, CDM Regulations, and company procedures.</li>
<li>Conduct regular site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety audits to promote a positive safety culture.</li>
<li>Monitor project progress against programme, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective actions where necessary.</li>
<li>Ensure quality control procedures are maintained throughout all stages of construction.</li>
<li>Coordinate material deliveries, plant requirements, and site logistics to maximise efficiency and minimise disruption.</li>
<li>Liaise with clients, consultants, utility providers, local authorities, and other stakeholders as required.</li>
<li>Manage temporary works and ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with approved designs and procedures.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress reports, permits, inspections, and quality assurance documentation.</li>
<li>Oversee snagging and defect rectification activities to ensure successful project completion.</li>
<li>Assist with project reporting, forecasting, and cost control activities in conjunction with the wider project team.</li>
<li>Support the preparation and completion of project handover documentation.</li>
</ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Who We&rsquo;re Looking For</b></h2>
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Essential</b></h3>
<ul><li>Proven experience working as a Site Manager on groundworks, civil engineering, infrastructure, or reinforced concrete projects.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of excavation works, drainage installations, reinforced concrete structures, formwork systems, and pad foundations.</li>
<li>Experience managing subcontractors and multiple workstreams on live construction sites.</li>
<li>Excellent understanding of Health &amp; Safety regulations and site management best practice.</li>
<li>Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.</li>
<li>SMSTS Certification.</li>
<li>CSCS Managers Card.</li>
<li>First Aid at Work Certification.</li>
<li>Full UK Driving Licence.</li>
<li>Ability to provide two recent professional references.</li>
</ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Desirable</b></h3>
<ul><li>Experience delivering projects involving modular or off-site construction installations.</li>
<li>Temporary Works Supervisor or Coordinator qualification.</li>
<li>NRSWA qualification.</li>
<li>CAT &amp; Genny certification.</li>
<li>Scaffold Inspection qualification.</li>
<li>NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management or equivalent.</li>
