 Job Description
 
 
 
 Benchmark School is seeking a school counselor, psychologist, or social worker for our grades 1-8 school for students who learn differently. Benchmark School remains committed to the social and emotional well-being of its students. To meet this commitment, the Child &amp; Family Support Services Department was created to provide support and consultation for its students, parents, and staff.
 
 
 
 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Providing support to students through individual counseling and group meetings
 </li>
 <li>
 Teaching weekly class meeting lessons (Affective Curriculum)
 </li>
 <li>
 Offering ongoing consultation to parents and staff as needed
 </li>
 <li>
 Leading parent groups and workshops periodically
 </li>
 <li>
 Communicating with students, parents, and other staff members in a positive, clear and professional manner
 </li>
 <li>
 Demonstrating an openness to learning, growth, and change in accordance with the educational philosophy of Benchmark School
 </li>
 <li>
 Actively pursuing professional growth and development through professional reading and participation in professional development activities in and outside of Benchmark School
 </li>
 <li>
 Participating in periodic evening or weekend activities, including meetings, professional development activities, and school events
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Qualifications
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Advanced degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology
 </li>
 <li>
 Licensed and advanced certification preferred
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum of three years' experience working with school-age children preferred
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to work well with a team
 </li>
 <li>
 Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues and parents
 </li>
 <li>
 Enthusiastic interest in motivating and supporting students
 </li>
 <li>
 A role model for students
 
 
 </li>
