As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will work with modern technologies to enhance the Internal Development Platform for Seequent, with special emphasis on Developer Experience. You will design and implement secure and cost-efficient cloud and on-prem infrastructure solutions to achieve successful business outcomes for Seequent. Your responsibilities will include providing automated and secure access to key systems and services. You will also be a mentor to junior members of the team.</p><p><b><br>

Systems Knowledge and Expertise</b></p><br>

Deep expertise in multiple areas of products and services that the Systems Engineering team provides to internal customers such as Development and Production Infrastructure Engineering.</li><li>
Identify and implement solutions to improve and refine Systems Engineering infrastructure and services.</li><li>
The ability to pick up and see to completion any critical team project related to deploying, patching, or migrating key systems and services.</li><li>
Advise on and help implement best infrastructure/service automation, observability, and security practices across teams.</li><li>
Proactively identify issues with technical dependencies of a project that are owned by other teams and surface them.</li><li>
Extend and maintain documentation on critical systems and processes.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
User Engagement and Teamwork</b></p><br>

Work with cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements and gather feedback on products/services; identify pain points and clarify ambiguity in their ideas.</li><li>
Work closely with Development Platform Engineers to design solutions for on-prem and cloud infrastructure.</li><li>
Design and implement automated solutions for onboarding, offboarding, and permissions management.</li><li>
Promote a culture of providing quality and timely service for engineering teams.</li><li>
Champion and promote tools that enhance Developer Experience (DevEx).</li><li>
Build relationships across teams and help achieve positive outcomes.</li><li>
Participate in or lead technical discussions across multiple teams.</li><li>
Support the Lead in the advancement of team goals.</li><li>
Help organize and lead team projects through trackable epics and tickets.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
Technical Leadership</b></p><br>

Mentor and coach junior members of the team, guiding them through technical challenges with compassion and patience.</li><li>
Advise engineering on best practices and approaches to solving infrastructure and systems related problems.</li><li>
Provide technical leadership that helps guide the team when making key decisions on cloud tooling.</li><li>
Cultivate a &ldquo;shift-left&rdquo; security approach both within your work and across the team.</li><li>
Develop an expertise in multiple areas of services that the team provides to internal customers like Development pods.</li><li>
Promote a culture of automation over manual solutions.</li><li>
Participate in technical interviews during recruitment.</li><li>
Project Management</li><li>
Define, document and execute small projects or sub-projects.</li><li>
Work independently or with a small team, actively participating in all project phases.</li><li>
Apply appropriate project management methods and tools.</li><li>
Identify, assess, and manage risks effectively.</li><li>
Prepare realistic project plans (including scope, schedule, quality, risk, and communication plans), ensuring stakeholder involvement and alignment with organisational governance standards.</li><li>
Track activities against the project schedule, managing stakeholder involvement as appropriate.</li><li>
Monitor costs, times, quality, and resources and act when these deviate from acceptable standards</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>

In addition, the following technical qualifications, experience, and skills set are required:</li><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.</li><li>
7+ years working in cloud and on-prem infrastructure engineering roles.</li><li>
Deep understanding of primary cloud infrastructure services like virtual machines, virtual networks, storage, and key vaults.</li><li>
Proficiency or experience using scripting languages like PowerShell and/or Python.</li><li>
Experience with the following tools and systems: Atlassian, GitHub, Slack, Cloudflare, and Artifactory.</li><li>
Experience administering or working with DNS, Web Application Firewalls, and SSL Certificates.</li><li>
Experience migrating self-hosted infrastructure and software to the cloud.</li><li>
Excellent technical and problem-solving skills.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
Working conditions</b></p><p></p><p><br>
The Lead Systems Engineer is here to provide support, direction, and inspiration. This is an office-based role, and you are required to be in the Delft office a minimum of three days a week. You will be working within a team of other Systems Engineers. You will also work with and get support from external parties and across the entire Seequent team.<br>
Seequent will provide you opportunities to extend your professional skills by giving you ownership of projects. We will also support your development with a mixture of on-the-job coaching and external training<b>.</b></p></div>

Responsibilities:</b></div><br>

Build, maintain, and grow strong, ongoing relationships with Users</li><li>
Serve as the primary liaison between the company and Users, ensuring clear communication and alignment</li><li>
Develop and deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution overviews</li><li>
Conduct training, mentoring, and consulting sessions to drive product adoption and best practices</li><li>
Coordinate, evaluate, and continuously improve user training materials, tutorials, and learning resources</li><li>
Implement and manage structured onboarding processes for new Users</li><li>
Analyze user engagement, adoption, and usage data to identify trends and improve the user experience</li><li>
Handle and resolve user requests and technical issues, coordinating with internal teams as needed</li><li>
Articulate product capabilities and technology positioning to both technical and non-technical audiences</li><li>

3-5+ years of experience in the Civil / Roadway Design industry</li><li>

DOT Roadway Design Manuals</li><li>
DOT Standard Drawings</li><li>
DOT drafting and plan preparation requirements</li><li>
Highway and roadway design standards (preferred)</li></ul></li><li>
Proven proficiency with Bentley OpenRoads Designer and OpenSite</li><li>
Experience with legacy Bentley products (InRoads, GEOPAK, MX) is preferred</li><li>
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation abilities</li><li>
Ability to quickly learn, effectively demonstrate, and support Bentley&rsquo;s software product portfolio</li><li>
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross functional teams</li><li>
