Commercial Overhead Door Installation TechnicianBerkman Industries, LLC is seeking an experienced Commercial Overhead Door Installation Technician for a 1099 Independent Contractor role.Applicants must have previous hands-on industry experience installing and/or repairing roll-up doors, sectional doors, TKOs, high-speed doors, and commercial dock equipment (also known as warehouse loading doors and overhead dock doors).MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE:<ul><li>Commercial Overhead Doors</li><li>Dock Levelers (installation &amp; repair &mdash; not just operating them)</li></ul>Please do not apply if you do not have direct installation experience. This position is not to be confused with pedestrian walk-through doors.Employment ClassificationThis is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and tools unless otherwise agreed upon. This role offers flexibility and performance-based compensation based on experience and production.Job Responsibilities / Requirements<ul><li>Install and repair commercial overhead doors including:</li><li>Sectional Doors</li><li>Rolling Steel Doors</li><li>Fire Doors</li><li>Vertistack Doors</li><li>Coiling Doors</li><li>Install and service dock levelers and related loading dock equipment</li><li>Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans</li><li>Install drywall and metal stud framing according to specifications</li><li>Perform caulking and sealing tasks to ensure airtightness and water resistance</li><li>Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance</li><li>Perform welding and electrical work as required</li><li>Operate in a safety-conscious manner at all times</li><li>Track and maintain job-related paperwork and submit documentation in a timely manner</li><li>Collaborate with team members and job site personnel to complete projects efficiently.</li></ul>Experience Required<ul><li>Proven experience in commercial overhead door and dock leveler installation</li><li>Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction plans</li><li>Knowledge of drywall installation techniques and metal stud framing</li><li>Familiarity with caulking and sealing methods</li><li>Skills in trim carpentry, cabinet installation, and fixture installation</li><li>Ability to effectively use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and measuring device.</li></ul>Job Qualifications<ul><li>High School Diploma or Equivalent</li><li>Ability to safely lift 75&ndash;100 pounds overhead</li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license and active auto insurance</li><li>Reliable transportation</li><li>Ability to work independently as a contractor</li><li>Must maintain all required insurance and licensing applicable to independent contractor status</li></ul>Why Berkman Industries?Berkman Industries is a distribution, construction, and service organization offering a complete range of commercial door systems and security products.
