OVERVIEW:

Reporting to a Partner or Senior Associate, Associate Attorneys are responsible for managing Immigration Assistants and Paralegals in the filing of assigned immigration case work.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul>
<li>Represent clients in all aspects of business immigration law.</li>
<li>Maintain a high-level of communication with all clients.</li>
<li>Oversee and manage a team of legal assistants in case preparation work.</li>
<li>Assign and prioritize case work and projects as needed.</li>
<li>Train Immigration Assistants and Paralegals.</li>
<li>Establish and maintain case work quality and consistency throughout the office.</li>
<li>Liaise with other attorneys in the firm and share all information regarding case preparation.</li>
<li>Maintain accuracy to high volume, rapid turnover caseload.</li>
<li>Participate in other office projects as assigned.</li>
<li>Correspond with the client and the individual employee during the intake process.</li>
<li>Assist clients/employees with technical issues in completing the questionnaires and submitting documents.</li>
<li>Guide clients and employees through the intake process, enlisting client services as needed.</li>
</ul>
QUALIFICATIONS:
<ul>
<li>Typically at least 1+ year(s) as a practicing corporate immigration attorney.</li>
<li>J.D. degree and must be licensed to practice law in the U.S.</li>
<li>Must have excellent English writing and oral communication skills. Secondary language skills a plus.</li>
<li>Excellent organization and computer skills required.</li>
</ul>
WORKING CONDITIONS:
<ul>
<li>Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.</li>
<li>Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach daily.</li>
<li>Able to perform general office administrative activities: copying, filing, delivering and using the telephone.</li>
<li>Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.</li>
<li>Regular and on-time attendance.</li>
<li>Must be able to prioritized, schedule and complete testing required for multiple applications with overlapping schedules.</li>
<li>A certain degree of creativity and flexibility is required.</li>
<li>Hours may exceed 40 hours per week.</li>
<li>Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.</li></ul>

<li>In accordance with New York City&rsquo;s Wage Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this position in New York is between $153,000 to $162,500.</li>
<li>Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.</li>

Focus Areas &amp; Responsibilities

Manager Coaching &amp; Leadership Advisory
<ul>
<li>Serve as a trusted advisor to managers, offering clear guidance on leadership effectiveness, team development, and organizational culture.</li>
<li>Identify leadership gaps and provide practical coaching to strengthen managerial capability and confidence.</li>
<li>Support managers through challenging conversations and complex people issues with clarity and empathy.</li>
<li>Act as a strategic partner in organizational design and resource management to create effective team structures and align talent to business needs</li>
</ul>
Employee Relations
<ul>
<li>Lead resolution of employee relations issues with fairness, consistency, and compliance.</li>
<li>Identify trends and recommend proactive strategies to reduce risk and improve employee experience.</li>
<li>Maintain a strong ER framework that reflects best practices and organizational values.</li>
<li>Provide clear, timely guidance to managers on policies, balancing compliance with practical solutions.</li>

Performance Management

Subject Matter Ownership
<ul>
<li>Own and continuously improve one or more HR frameworks or operational areas such as HR Operations, Employee Relations Framework, or Compensation Framework.</li>
<li>Serve as the subject matter expert, driving innovation, process excellence, and compliance in your area of ownership.</li>
<li>Develop policies, tools, and resources that enable managers and employees to navigate HR processes effectively.</li>
<li>Monitor metrics and outcomes related to your area of ownership to identify opportunities for improvement and deliver measurable impact.</li>

Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.</li>
<li>Preferred: HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR).</li>
<li>Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, including business partnering and employee relations.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to navigate complex organizational challenges and deliver practical, business-focused solutions.</li>
