<div>This position is based out of our Effingham, IL office; however, the primary service area includes Fayette, Shelby, and surrounding communities. The Family Strengthening Case Manager should expect regular travel within this region, typically 3&ndash;5 days per week.

As a Family Strengthening Case Manager you will give unsupported and isolated families more stability to get through hard times. As part of our Bethany team, you&rsquo;ll help parents connect with community resources and build support networks to keep their families together and their children out of foster care. By strengthening families before crisis hits, you&rsquo;ll help them stay where they belong&mdash; together.

How Your Role Makes a Difference
<ul>
<li>Conduct home visits to meet with families at various hours of the day as scheduled in some neighborhoods categorized as potentially high-risk;</li>
<li>Serve as a resource of information between all parties involved in the case and identified stakeholders regarding medical, educational and mental health providers;</li>
<li>Conduct visits with children, parents and/or caregivers that include the on-going assessment of child safety, permanency and well-being;</li>
<li>Conduct case management with Child Welfare Services (CWS) cases, as needed;</li>
<li>Develop and implement a plan that meets the needs of the children and the family;</li>
<li>Perform case management responsibilities in accordance with state and federal laws, Department of Children and Families Administrative Codes and Operating Procedures, funding source policies and internal policies on child abuse, abandonment, and neglect within required timeframes;</li>
<li>Attend court hearings, prepare and file all court documents within required timeframes;</li>
<li>Travel on a regular basis to external parties;</li>
<li>Demonstrate flexibility with working hours outside of the normal business hours to meet the needs of the role to include some evenings and weekends, as needed;</li>
<li>Essential job responsibilities may vary based on the specific needs of each program/department;</li>
<li>May be required or asked to participate in a Bethany sponsored event;</li>
<li>Complete other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
What Will Make You Successful
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Services or equivalent field of study from an accredited college with at least three (3) years of subsequent experience in a child and family welfare agency or a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Social Work from an accredited college with at least two (2) years of subsequent experience in a child and family welfare agency;</li>
<li>Master&rsquo;s degree in Social Work or equivalent field of study from an accredited college with at least two (2) years of subsequent experience in a child and family welfare agency, preferred;</li>
<li>Must be willing and able to obtain a CWEL and CERAP certification upon hire;</li>
<li>Must possess the ability to engage, develop, and maintain positive community relationships with a diverse group of individuals;</li>
<li>Demonstrates excellent assessment, therapeutic and crisis intervention skills;</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills;</li>
<li>Work well under pressure and adaptable to change;</li>
<li>Must have an ability to work flexible work hours to include some evenings and weekends;</li>
<li>Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;</li>
<li>Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany;</li>
<li>Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate coverage;</li>
<li>Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;</li>
<li>Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.</li>

Family Strengthening Case Manager

As a Unaccompanied Children (UC) Case Manager, you&rsquo;ll walk alongside unaccompanied children as they seek family reunification, older youth preparing for adulthood in a new country, and foster families who give these children a home away from home.

How Your Role Makes a Difference
<ul>
<li>Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate comprehensive case management services;</li>
<li>Maintain a caseload in compliance with contract terms and agency expectations</li>
<li>Maintain a home study caseload in compliance with contract terms and agency expectations;</li>
<li>Assess potential placements for Unaccompanied Children (UC), to include but not limited to interviews and home study investigations;</li>
<li>Perform home study assessments to include calls, interviews, home visits, and accompaniment to community resources, as needed;</li>
<li>Complete and document all required reports, case notes, and case contacts in the appropriate database in accordance with the expected timeframes and requirements;</li>
<li>Provide psycho-educational information, referrals, outreach, advocacy, and support to children and families;</li>
<li>Assess the safety and appropriateness of the placement on an ongoing basis using child welfare principles and social work best practices;</li>
<li>Serve clients within the entire state of their respective branch as assigned;</li>
<li>Attend weekly meetings with supervisor to consult on cases, and to review case plan and direction;</li>
<li>Keep abreast of community resources and refer families for support, as needed;</li>
<li>Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services;</li>

What Will Make You Successful
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s level degree in Behavioral Sciences, Human Services, or a Social Services field from an accredited college;</li>
<li>At least one (1) year of prior case management experience in child and family services;</li>
<li>Must have a broad knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and methodology of social work as acquired through a Bachelor&rsquo;s level degree;</li>
<li>Bi-lingual English and Spanish;</li>
<li>Previous experience conducting home studies, strongly preferred;</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to service a difference group of clients, to include refugees or other minority families;</li>
<li>Mature and stable judgment as well as sensitivity to various cultures and the unique history of refugees;</li>
<li>Knowledge of state, community and agency resources for victims of abuse;</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills;</li>
<li>Demonstrated clinical, therapeutic, and crisis intervention skills;</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality;</li>
<li>Adheres to all agency and departmental safety procedures including reporting any unsafe practices, equipment and environment, and takes an active role in correcting the unsafe practice, equipment or environment through proper notification channels;</li>
<li>Must be able to pass required medical examinations and have the physical ability to fulfill the essential job functions, including physical restraints of a resident;</li>
<li>Successfully pass an annual TB test and document preference to receive or decline Hepatitis immunization;</li>
<li>Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;</li>
<li>Must be 21 years old with a valid driver&rsquo;s license with at least 3 years of driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany;</li>
<li>Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage;</li>
<li>Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;</li>
<li>Exhibit integrity and good moral character to provide appropriate care;</li>
<li>Possess the relevant experience and/or qualifications to work with these clients and clients with special needs; and be properly trained and licensed, as necessary;</li>
<li>Must be able to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route:</li>
<li>TDap or Tdap: Complete primary vaccination series. If primary vaccination series completed in childhood, one Tdap dose in adulthood.</li>
<li>Results of medical examination (as required by State Licensing, including results of TB tests and immunization records);</li>
<li>Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.</li>

<li>Drive fair and transparent responses to employee engagement matters;</li>
<li>Managing the oversight of compliance and timecard record keeping in accordance with applicable laws and internal requirements;</li>
<li>Effectively partner with the ER Investigator on workplace investigation needs;</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with supervisory level staff to ensure effective performance coaching plans are administered to employees to include performance improvement plans;</li>
<li>Conduct review and trend analysis on incoming exit interview data, provide quarterly reporting to VP of HR Operations, and escalate concerns appropriately</li>
<li>Ensures all performance goal setting is done in an achievable and timely manner;</li>
<li>Maintains and cultivates positive working relationships with all levels of staff;</li>
<li>Participates in or manages projects, as needed;</li>
<li>Stay abreast of all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements related to employment law;</li>

<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s level degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or equivalent field of study from an accredited college with at least four (4) years of progressive Human Resources experience in employee relations (or) Master&rsquo;s level degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or equivalent field of study from an accredited college with at least two (2) years of progressive Human Resources experience in employee relations;</li>
<li>Human Resources Certification (SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR), strongly preferred;</li>
<li>Prior experience supporting business leaders, and driving employee engagement activities in a complex, organizational structure;</li>
<li>Demonstrated knowledge of employment laws;</li>
