Better Sessions

We are seeking a Part-Time Academic Coach/Tutor to travel to the homes of students (grades 5-12) throughout Charlotte, NC, and tutor them one-on-one with a focus on organization, executive functioning skills, and study skills during after-school hours (3pm-8pm). Must have advanced knowledge of executive functioning skills. We help students to feel better with our expertise and a coaching mentality!Responsibilities:<ul><li>Drive up to 30 minutes to various home locations (Many families are located in South Charlotte).</li><li>Schedule sessions during times that work for both you and the family.</li><li>Integrate executive functioning skills, organization, and study skills into the homework that the student has for that week.</li><li>Create weekly, concrete goals with the student.</li><li>Communicate and strategize with parents, teachers, and specialists</li><li>Read and integrate neuro-psych evaluations, 504 plans, and IEP's into session plans.</li><li>Research and plan for sessions.</li><li>Free training and worksheets will be provided.</li><li>Basic administrative tasks such as email reminders, use of Google calendar, and Google Forms.</li><li>Independent Contractor position.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Master&rsquo;s Degree in Special Education, English Education, or Education.</li><li>3 years of classroom teaching/tutoring experience.</li><li>Experience teaching students with ADHD, ASD, anxiety and depression.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of Executive Functioning Skills and Study Skills.</li><li>Experience reading and interpreting Neuropsychological Evaluations, 504 Plans, and IEP&rsquo;s.</li><li>Experience teaching Reading Comprehension and Writing Techniques to middle and/or high school students.</li><li>Confidence communicating with and advising parents.</li><li>Possess a positive &ldquo;coach&rdquo; mentality, process-oriented, familiarity with goal setting, and holding students accountable.</li><li>Impeccable time management skills and detail-oriented.</li></ul>Job Type: ContractPay: $75.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Flexible schedule</li><li>Professional development assistance</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Master's (Required)</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Teaching or Tutoring: 3 years (Preferred)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
