Summary
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
<ul><li>Reports directly to: Financial Services Accounting Manager
</li><li>The Financial Services Cashier within the Department serves at the staff level and is selected by the Accounting Manager and a panel after having met the requisite education, training, and experience criteria set out in this job description.
</li><li>The individual is not responsible for the supervision of employees.
</li><li>Applicant is hired under the legal doctrine of employment at will.
</li></ul>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul><li>Collect cash, money order, or credit card payments made in person or through the mail;
</li><li>Post the payment in allocation order as dictated by Judicial policy;
</li><li>Provide receipts and/or balance statements to defendants;
</li><li>Utilize a variety of computer systems to post payments or investigate discrepancies;
</li><li>Ensure that the cash drawer is in balance with receipts at end of each shift;
</li><li>Perform general clerical functions as required;
</li><li>Update financial system of changes as directed by the court;
</li><li>Contributes to the team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.
</li></ul>KNOWLEDGE:
<ul><li>Knowledge of good accounting principles;
</li><li>Highly developed attention to details;
</li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization and the general public;
</li><li>Basic skills in operation of standard office equipment;
</li><li>Proficient in operating Windows-based word processing, spreadsheet, and data base software.
</li></ul>MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
<ul><li>A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
</li><li>Thirty (30) hours of college coursework with emphasis in business, accounting, finance, or public administration is desirable.
</li><li>Three (3) years of experience in cashiering or accounting field or a combination of education and experience is desirable.
</li></ul>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
<ul><li>Includes lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. occasionally; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand an eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment.
</li><li>Subject to sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting and handling to perform the essential job functions.
</li><li>Applicant must possess a valid Texas Driver&rsquo;s license.
</li><li>Applicant must pass and maintain a favorable criminal background check.
</li><li>Applicant must clear a pre-employment physical and urinalysis test.
</li></ul>WORKING CONDITIONS:
<ul><li>Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.
</li><li>May be required to work a flexible schedule and more than 40 hours during the workweek.

Summary
Under general supervision, installs, relocates, troubleshoots, repairs, performs diagnostic tests and preventative maintenance on mainframe terminals, personal computer workstations and peripherals; determines hardware requirements and needs; tests and evaluates hardware and software for efficiency; and performs related duties as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Troubleshoots and repairs personal computer workstations and peripherals
</li><li>Installs and relocates computer workstations and peripherals
</li><li>Performs preventative maintenance work on computers and peripherals
</li><li>Assists users in determination of hardware requirements and needs
</li><li>Performs diagnostic tests on personal computer workstations, microcomputers and peripherals
</li><li>Maintains accurate records of software/hardware installation and relocation
</li><li>Tests and evaluates hardware and software for efficiency and compatibility with existing network systems
</li><li>Responds to after-hour calls related to network problems
</li><li>Performs related duties as required
</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications :
<ul><li>Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate&rsquo;s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Management Information Systems or a closely related field, and two years computer and peripheral repair experience; OR successful completion of a relevant program from an accredited technical school and two years computer and peripheral repair experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
</li><li>Good knowledge of software packages and operating systems; knowledge of diagnostic software programs and restructuring of hard drives
</li><li>Skill in training user on commercial software packages; skill in troubleshooting and repairing network equipment and peripherals; skill in installing hardware and software; skill in completing routine upgrades and repairs on personal computers; skill in logical problem solving
</li><li>Ability to recognize problems and recommend solutions; ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees, appointed and elected officials and outside organizations
</li><li>Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation
</li><li>Must have available transportation during entire workday; required to travel to remote sites within Bexar County
</li><li>Must have valid driver&rsquo;s license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insurance
</li><li>May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek
</li><li>Required to be on call after hours and weekends on a rotating schedule
</li></ul>Working Environment and Physical Demands:
<ul><li>Constantly working in indoors conditions with occasional jail environment exposure
</li><li>Work environment involves some exposure to temperature variations and occasional exposure to high voltage equipment
</li><li>Frequently moves objects weighing up to 10-25 pounds; occasionally moves objects weighing up to 50-75 pounds
</li><li>Occasionally moves about office
</li><li>Frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
</li><li>Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
</li><li>Constantly positions self to maintain computers, including under desks and in close-space areas
</li><li>Must be able to remain in a stationary position
