Job Description :Duties: The Applications Analyst &ndash; Senior is responsible for the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of the organization&rsquo;s information technology resources. The role provides solutions to a variety of complex technical problems of diverse scope, requiring analysis and evaluation of multiple factors. This role collaborates closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, design solutions, configure modules, and provide ongoing support to ensure the smooth operation of the Information System.Essential Job Statements:Provides solutions to highly complex technical problems requiring frequent use of creativity and ingenuity and an in-depth analysis and evaluation of multiple factors. Leads teams and/or projects, coordinating work activities, reporting on work status, and providing input on team performance. Develops team competencies and documentation materials. Ensures impact assessment documentation is complete. Makes recommendations for repeatable, low-impact implementations. Performs troubleshooting efforts on application issues, submits service requests to vendors, and follows complex correction steps. Acts as primary IT Liaison with key departments and/or committees and coordinates the work of others to complete a series of prioritized requests in responsibility areas. Research emerging technology and its application to business needs and presents findings to all levels of management as required. Prioritizes work in area of specialization and is accountable for reporting on work status. Advises end-users and oversight groups regarding the feasibility of proposed system changes and the amount of effort required to complete the change(s). Participates in application special interest groups, workshops as required. May be responsible to mentor/precept other team members when appropriate. Ensures responsibility and visible commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion programs/initiatives through collaboration and implementation of initiatives across the health system. Performs other duties as assigned and/or participates in special projects to support the mission of VCUHS. Accepts alternate assignments, as required to fulfill business needs.Skills: Years and Type of Required Experience:<ul><li>Five years of related experience; including three years of direct related IT application experience</li><li>Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:</li><li>Expert understanding of system development life cycle and application development experience.</li><li>Expert understanding and broad application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in principal disciplines Applies extensive technical expertise in principle discipline and broad knowledge in related disciplines in revising or developing new methods and procedures.</li><li>Understands the workflow, primary objectives, and critical technology implementation issues of at least three primary business or clinical areas.</li><li>Expert knowledge of application build, monitoring, and troubleshooting tools.</li><li>High-level analysis, design, application build, training, and implementation planning skills.</li><li>Understands major components of critical external systems and how they are interfaced and possesses the highest level of analysis, design, build, training, and implementation planning skills.</li><li>Knowledge of the interactions between various application subspecialties and ability to initiate joint design and development efforts.</li><li>Utilizes considerable latitude in determining objectives of assignments and determining approaches to solutions with work performed from a long-term perspective and for achieving desired objectives.</li></ul>Cultural Responsiveness:<ul><li>Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.</li><li>Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:</li><li>Previous experience in the training, build, and/or support of our electronic health record suite Independent action(s) required: Operates with limited supervision from manager or specialist team members in determining objectives of assignments and solutions with work.</li><li>Acts as primary IT Liaison with key departments and/or committees Physical Requirements (includes use of assistance devices as appropriate):</li><li>Physical: Lifting less than 20 lbs.</li><li>Activities: Prolonged sitting, Repetitive motion</li><li>Mental/Sensory: Strong recall, Reasoning, Problem solving, Hearing, Speak clearly, Write legibly, Reading, Logical thinking</li><li>Emotional: Fast pace environment, Able to handle multiple priorities, Frequent and intense customer interactions, Able to adapt to frequent change</li></ul>Education: Required Education:<ul><li>Associate&rsquo; degree or equivalent combination of related education and experience.</li><li>Preferred Education: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in business, clinically related field; health informatics or computer science or equivalent</li><li>Licensure/Certification Required: At least one certification in Epic application Licensure/Certification Preferred: Must be certified in Epic module(s) appropriate to area of responsibility as determined by leadership if applicable.</li><li>Each project and exam as determined for the specific roles must be passed within three (3) attempts.</li><li>Successful Epic certification(s) completion required within 90 days of final training.</li><li>Maintain required Epic certification for appropriate role Manager Requests: Epic Beacon Certification Skills and Experience:</li></ul>Required Skills: <ul><li>SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT LIFE CYCLE</li><li>APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT</li><li>TECHNICAL PRINCIPLES</li><li>TECHNICAL THEORIES</li><li>TECHNICAL CONCEPTS</li></ul>Pay: $80.00 - $85.00 per hourExperience:<ul><li>infusion scheduling: 4 years (Required)</li></ul>License/Certification:<ul><li>Epic Beacon Certification (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: Remote
