Job SummaryBg's Boat House is looking for a couple of motivated and detail-oriented Prep Cooks to join our team. In this role, you will be an essential part of the kitchen, able to follow simple recipes and follow the directions from a kitchen manager. We are a Seasonal, waterfront restaurant and open through Mid Oct.Duties<ul><li>Assist in food preparation by chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and techniques.</li><li>Follow simple recipes accurately to ensure consistency and quality in meal preparation.</li><li>Support the cooking process by operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.</li><li>Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen tools to adhere to food safety standards.</li><li>Help with meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service during busy hours.</li><li>Follow safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure food safety.</li><li>Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and maintain a smooth workflow.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Previous experience in food industry roles such as dietary aide, restaurant, or catering is preferred but not required.</li><li>Knowledge of food safety standards.</li><li>Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques.</li><li>Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for various ingredients.</li><li>Excellent communication skills to collaborate with kitchen staff and support team efforts.</li><li>A proactive attitude towards cleaning duties and maintaining a hygienic workspace.</li></ul>Join us as a Prep Cook while you grow your skills in a supportive team environment!
