<div><p><b>POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (MAY VARY BASED ON SHIFT)</b></p>
<ul><li>
Assist in the day-to-day operations of a shelter for residents.</li><li>
Process new client intake information and bed assignment.</li><li>
Maintain daily census records.</li><li>
Distribute clothing and personal care items to clients as needed.</li><li>
Distribute mail, appointment slips and other documentation to clients.</li><li>
Write detailed incident reports regarding client activity and the condition of the entire shelter.</li><li>
Document and maintain Shift Summaries and Logbooks.</li><li>
Conduct searches of client lockers.</li><li>
Conduct client pack-ups and property return.</li><li>
Manage CARES, the DHS client database.</li><li>
Participate in training and staff meetings.</li><li>
Utilize CPR/First Aid and/or Narcan techniques in emergency situations and conform to OSHA standards.</li><li>
Ability to climb stairs, walk throughout the facility, stand to talk to clients and staff, and sit for extended periods.</li><li>
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.</li><li>
Enforce Fire Safety Plan.</li><li>
Assist residents with laundry services and manage linen exchange for shelter residents where needed.</li><li>
Ability to bend, or squat to frequently retrieve records from filing cabinets and lift up to 30lbs, unassisted.</li><li>
Ability to work cooperatively with peers and other staff in order to serve the needs of the client.</li><li>
Escort clients to appointments outside of the facility as needed.</li><li>
Grant and record client access to their medications.</li><li>
Availability and flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.</li><li>
Provide the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) with daily census figures.</li><li>
Ability to create a warm, supportive environment; and work effectively with individuals in a community residence, and or mental/physical disabilities.</li></ul><div>
High School diploma/GED.<br>
<ul><li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>Bi-Lingual Spanish preferred.</li><li>Familiarity with the underserved population, including but not limited to, homelessness,</li></ul>
substance use, mental health, and LGBTQ populations.<br>
<ul><li>Excellent communications skills and can work independently and with a team</li></ul>
environment. Ability to interact and function as part of a team; including cooperation,<br>
adaptability, flexibility, courtesy, and acceptance of feedback to foster smooth and<br>
efficient processing of workflow.<br>
<ul><li>Excellent organizational, follow-up and follow through skills. Ability to meet deadlines</li></ul>
and excellent multi-tasking ability is essential<br>
<ul><li>Self-motivated, energetics, self-starter with excellent client service skills</li><li>Demonstrate professionalism, excellent communication, organizational, time management,</li></ul>
and multi-tasking skills, and a strong attention to detail.<br>
<ul><li>Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate in person, by email and telephone to</li></ul>
provide information with courtesy and tact while maintaining strict confidentiality.<br>
<ul><li>Ability to interact with all levels of agency personnel and display a strong and positive</li></ul>
