Our Battery Park, NY location brings our mission to life in Lower Manhattan&mdash;creating a supportive and inclusive community of families through flexible, high-quality, creativity-driven care and education for children ages 3 months to 4 years.Grounded in the principles of collaboration, respect, and experiential learning, we foster confidence, curiosity, and empathy in each child.About the RoleUnder the direction of the teacher, the substitute teacher will aid in implementing developmentally appropriate, child-centered curriculum which encourages learning through exploration and discovery and promotes the development of a positive self-image. The substitute teacher will model positive social interactions and language. The substitute teacher will implement positive class management techniques and strategies. All practices the substitute teacher uses must be consistent with guidelines put forth by Big and Tiny and the New York City Department of Health/Bureau of Day Care.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Ensure the health, safety and well-being of children in the program by providing close supervision of children during all activities.</li><li>Assist in carrying out stimulating lesson plans promoting exploration, creativity, and discovery.</li><li>Assist in preparing materials and maintaining a clean and safe classroom environment.</li><li>Attend all required trainings, supervisory meetings and other professional development workshops.</li><li>Work cooperatively with other teachers and administrators.</li><li>Ensure that all Big &amp; Tiny and NYC Department of Health/Bureau of Day Care guidelines are followed.</li><li>Other duties as assigned by the Director.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Must be at least 19 years old and have a high school or general equivalency diploma</li><li>Some college coursework in early childhood education preferred</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills</li><li>Strong organizational skills</li><li>Salary range is $18-$22 per hour</li></ul>Job Type: Part-timePay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hourWork Location: In person
