Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our finance team. Your expertise will help drive informed decision-making and uphold compliance with accounting standards.Responsibilities<ul><li>Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as ZOHO books, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.</li><li>Prepare and record journal entries to accurately reflect financial transactions, including debits &amp; credits, account analysis, and account reconciliation.</li><li>Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliation to ensure all accounts are accurate and complete.</li><li>Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.</li><li>Conduct bank reconciliations to verify cash balances and resolve discrepancies promptly.</li><li>Assist with payroll processing, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and proper account classification.</li><li>Support budgeting activities by analyzing expenses, preparing financial reports, and monitoring variances.</li><li>Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards where applicable.</li><li>Prepare financial reports by gathering data from various sources; write clear summaries for management review.</li><li>Handle tax-related tasks such as preparing tax filings, maintaining supporting documentation, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.</li><li>Perform internal control procedures including double-entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, and account analysis to maintain data integrity.</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Proven experience in corporate or non-profit accounting environments with a strong understanding of financial concepts.</li><li>Hands-on experience with accounting software such as ZOHO Books QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero or similar platforms is essential.</li><li>Demonstrated ability in bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger management.</li><li>Knowledge of governmental accounting practices is a plus but not required.</li><li>Familiarity with payroll processing and tax experience is highly desirable.</li><li>Strong understanding of debits &amp; credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial statement preparation.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail with proficiency in 10 key typing for data entry accuracy.</li><li>Ability to interpret financial data accurately while maintaining confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.
