Knowledge / Technical Expertise:</b></p><ul><li>
Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible.</li><li>
Greet all arriving guests warmly and promptly.</li><li>
Seat guest guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations.</li><li>
When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and number of people in party. Provide guests with estimated waiting time. Call out name and number of party when tables become available.</li><li>
Upon seating, offer guests a menu. Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness.</li><li>
Relay messages to servers as needed.</li><li>
Maintain clean entrance, lobby, dining room, and restrooms.</li><li>
Assist servers in maintaining and stocking service stations.</li><li>
Transport bus tubs with dirty dishes to dish room if dish machine if needed.</li><li>
Clean and reset tables promptly. Clean chairs, booths, and surrounding carpet.</li><li>
Take food and beverage orders from guests requesting take out service, enter orders in our point-of-sale system.</li><li>
Process payments correctly and efficiently. Close checks.</li><li>
Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.</li><li>
Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as assigned.</li><li>
Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>

Host/Cashier/Busser

Responsible for greeting all guests in a professional, friendly and family oriented way before, during and after the meal period.</div><div></div><div><br>
REQUIREMENTS:<br>

 Be punctual to begin your work</li><li>
 Wear proper uniform (black slacks, Black Bear Diner shirt and suspenders, slip-proof black restaurant shoes ) and name badge at all times</li><li>
 Maintain a neat, clean appearance at all times</li><li>
 Wear and communicate through Radio headset at all times during work shift</li><li>
 Always asked Guests if the enjoy their meal and always thank them and ask them to see ask again.</li><li>
 Count accuracy of bank before opening and count cash drawers with Manager at end of shift.</li><li>
 Handle cash and credit card transactions accordingly</li><li>
 Maintain menu inventory</li><li>
 Responsible for all tips paid outs</li><li>
 Be current on processes for entering Comps, special promo coupons, and Gift Shop items to POS system.</li><li>
 Help greet guests as they enter the restaurant in a friendly manner, make eye contact and say: Good morning/afternoon/Evening, number of guests for breakfast/lunch/dinner?</li><li>
 Responsible for assuring that Pie Case is stocked with freshly baked items, and that all baked items are properly tagged with a color-coded paw dot to indicate its freshness.</li><li>
 Responsible to keep Pie Case windows and shelf clean at all times.</li><li>
 Responsible for the cleanliness of the cash register stations and surrounding areas</li><li>
 Takes To Go food orders and insures that all packaged orders are correct before giving to customers</li><li>
Responsible for answering the phone in a professional, up-beat and friendly manner (Good morning, Black Bear Diner, this is ________ speaking)</li><li>
 Responsible for making sure that restrooms are checked for cleanliness at all times</li><li>
 Responsible for balancing all sales at the end of shift</li><li>
 Helps with the cleanliness of the entire dining area, including entry doors</li><li>
 If a complaint arises, handle it professionally by listening, being helpful and polite. (Remember, the customer is always right.) If you feel you cannot resolve the problem, please locate floor supervisor or manager</li><li>
 All comps must be approved by manager and logged in the Comp book.</li><li>
Collect money for Employee meals before submitting Employee meal at the kitchen.</li><li>

1. Must be able to stand, walk, and stay on his/her feet for prolonged periods of time. This could be up to four hours without a break period to sit down.</div><div>

Cashier/Host

<p>REQUIREMENTS:</p>

<ul><li>Setup dining room tables with place mats and rolled up silver ware</li></ul>
<ul><li>Responsible for the cleanliness of the floor and all working dining room areas</li></ul>
<ul><li>Responsible for the cleanliness of all booth table seats</li></ul>
<ul><li>Responsible for bussing and re-setting tables, use white towels with proper sanitizer to clean surface of all tables prior to re-setting tables</li></ul>
<ul><li>Responsible for cleaning windows and all counter ledges.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Responsible for cleaning and restocking bathrooms.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Responsible for clearing debris and spills on all walkways and parking areas outside of the restaurant.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assists food servers as necessary</li></ul>
<ul><li>Refills beverages when necessary</li></ul>
<ul><li>Makes food runs when necessary</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assists guests with any needs they may have</li></ul>
<ul><li>Coordinates with Hosts(esses) with seating arrangements</li></ul>
<ul><li>Keeps all service stations clean at all times</li></ul>
<ul><li>Empty all trash cans at service stations</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assist with the replenishment of all beverage dispensers</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assist with the cleanliness of all light fixtures and picture frames, make sure they&rsquo;re free of dust</li></ul>
<ul><li>Sweeps and vacuums floors at end of shift and at night when closing</li></ul>
<ul><li>At night, make sure that the night crew sets up the room completely for opening the next day</li></ul>
<ul><li>You are required to work over time, if needed</li></ul>
<ul><li>Report to Manager any equipment failures and any shortages of supplies immediately</li></ul>
<ul><li>Make sure to take your breaks on time to avoid any penalties</li></ul>
<ul><li>Make sure to return to your work stations after breaks on a timely manner</li></ul>
<ul><li>Be a team player, taking ownership of the entire Restaurant, not just your station</li></ul>
<ul><li>Completes any other assigned tasks willingly as designated by management.</li></ul>
