We acquire good industrial businesses and build them into something stronger, from design and tooling through production and distribution.This is not a maintenance role. We are building something &mdash; and finance is one of the first things we are building. Today the books are kept on the outside. We need a Financial Controller who wants to bring them home.The RoleWe are looking for a Financial Controller to build and own the finance function for the platform &mdash; the close, the controls, the reporting, the costing &mdash; across our operating companies, and to carry it through every new business we acquire.Your job is to stand up a clean, consolidated monthly close, put real internal controls in place, and hand leadership numbers they can act on: accurate, traceable, and on time, every period.Stop here for a second. You do not sign off on a figure you cannot trace to its source.You build systems that hold. A close that lands on the same days every month. A chart of accounts that reads the same across every entity. A reconciliation that is done before anyone asks for it. Nothing falls through.You finish. The close closes &mdash; on time, every period, no drama. You do not let an open item sit, and you do not let a deadline slide.You read what the numbers are really saying. You can tell a healthy margin from a flattered one, and a real deal from a dressed-up one.You bring stability, not churn. You measure twice. You want the plan before the move. You will not trade the correct answer for the clever one.You lead through accurate, on-time output &mdash; not noise. You hold the line on controls without turning it into a fight.What You&rsquo;ll OwnClose &amp; Reporting&ndash; Own the monthly and quarterly close across the operating companies; deliver consolidated financials that tie out and a reporting package leadership and the sponsor can act on.&ndash; Stand up a close calendar &mdash; and hit it. Same days, every period.Controls &amp; Compliance&ndash; Build internal controls and a standardized chart of accounts across entities; keep the books GAAP-clean and audit-ready.&ndash; Manage the relationship with outside accountants and tax advisors, and bring the recurring work in-house as the function matures.Cost &amp; Margin&ndash; Own job-costing and standard costing for a low-volume, high-mix custom manufacturing environment; surface true margin by job, product, and plant.&ndash; Partner with operations on quoting accuracy and the quote-to-invoice handoff, so the business bills what it earns, on time.&ndash; Bring discipline to inventory, work-in-process, and vendor accountability.Cash &amp; Working Capital&ndash; Forecast cash, oversee AR/AP and collections discipline, and manage working capital across entities.&ndash; Own intercompany accounting and the day-to-day banking relationships.Integration &amp; Growth&ndash; Support diligence on acquisitions and integrate each new company onto the platform&rsquo;s reporting, controls, and systems.&ndash; Feed the financial numbers into the operating rhythm &mdash; scorecards and weekly metrics &mdash; so the business runs on facts, not hunches.What Success Looks Like&ndash; The close lands on schedule, every month, and the numbers tie.&ndash; Leadership trusts the reporting &mdash; because it is accurate and it is on time.&ndash; Real controls are in place and the books are audit-ready.&ndash; True job and plant margins are visible. No more guessing.&ndash; Cash is forecast, collections are disciplined, and working capital improves.&ndash; Each acquisition comes onto the platform clean &mdash; without the close slipping.What We&rsquo;re Looking ForMust-Haves&ndash; Controller or senior-accounting leadership experience in manufacturing.&ndash; CPA designation.&ndash; Hands-on ownership of month-end close and consolidated, multi-entity reporting.&ndash; Strong GAAP foundation; built or strengthened internal controls; carried a business through an audit.&ndash; Manufacturing cost accounting &mdash; standard cost, job cost, WIP, inventory, and margin analysis.&ndash; Cash forecasting and working-capital management.&ndash; ERP experience, and the ability to build and standardize systems where little formal structure exists today.&ndash; Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in accounting or finance &mdash; or the equivalent track record.Nice-to-Haves&ndash; Experience in a platform, holding-company, or private-equity-backed environment.&ndash; M&amp;A integration experience &mdash; folding an acquired company onto shared reporting and controls.&ndash; A track record of bringing an outsourced finance function in-house.&ndash; Exposure to injection molding, metal castings, machining, or custom / engineer-to-order job shops.&ndash; Familiarity with a structured operating system (e.g., EOS).&ndash; Using modern tools and AI to work smarter &mdash; measured by results, not usage.You&rsquo;ll Thrive Here If You&ndash; Chase the numbers that don&rsquo;t tie until the statement is right &mdash; and would never hand that off.&ndash; Build the close, the controls, and the costing from the studs, and make them hold.&ndash; Bring calm, accurate, on-time output to a function that has been held together on the outside.&ndash; Want the plan before the move, and won&rsquo;t trade the correct answer for the clever one.&ndash; Read a P&amp;L and a job-cost report and immediately see what is really going on.This Isn&rsquo;t the Right Seat If You&ndash; Want to reinvent the accounting model every quarter instead of running a sound one well.&ndash; Treat the close as approximately right and move on.&ndash; Need the systems already built before you can be effective.&ndash; Lead by volume and pep talks rather than reliable, accurate work.&ndash; Lose interest once the function is running smoothly.Why This Role&ndash; You build the finance function from the studs &mdash; and you own it.&ndash; Direct line to platform leadership and the sponsor; the numbers you produce drive real decisions.&ndash; Real momentum &mdash; a growing platform with acquisitions in motion, not a turnaround.&ndash; Culture is not a slogan here.
