Black Rock Galleries seeks a skilled and experienced Auction House Mover, Driver &amp; Materials Handler to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the safe transportation, handling, and moving of valuable items, including fine art and antiques. This is a full-timeposition typically requiring approximately 40 hours per week + overtime.Black Rock Galleries (BRG) is the East Coast&rsquo;s largest, estate liquidator specializing in the sale of estate and personal property through online auctions. With locations in Connecticut (Fairfield, Bridgeport, and Greenwich), Boston, and Raleigh (Apex), BRG offers employees a small business environment with potential for job growth.ResponsibilitiesThe nature of our dynamic work environment may require additional duties and responsibilities as necessary. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):<ul><li>Packing/Unpacking, Loading/Unloading, &amp; Materials Handling. Safely and delicately handle, pack, and transport fine art and antiques with utmost care to ensure their preservation and protection. Checking proper packing, batching, and loading of merchandise per final warehouse destinations (alone or with warehouse team). Physically loading/unloading box trucks (either alone or with assistance of other warehouse staff )without incident.</li><li>Box Truck Operation. Proficiently drive and operate the Company&rsquo;s box trucks, ensuring the safe transportation of estate and personal property merchandise to and from various locations, including auction sites (as needed) and Company warehouse facility. This includes:</li><li>Ensuring timeliness, efficiency, and safe and secure load carriage and transport of merchandise (i.e., antiques, art, furniture, smalls, etc.)</li><li>Driving between BRG warehouses and local job sites; includes mainly local/regional driving + a run from Fairfield to North Carolina every four to six weeks).</li><li>Performing necessary safety inspections before and after each leg of journey;</li><li>Maintaining logbooks for travel, vehicle repair, and/or working hours with honesty;</li><li>Adhering to laws and regulations (regulatory agencies, company safety directives, traffic laws, weight limits, etc.); and</li><li>Regularly monitoring truck maintenance schedules.</li><li>Technology Usage. Comfortably use technology, including the Company&rsquo;s inventory management systems, GPS, and communication devices, to efficiently coordinate transportation schedules and maintain accurate records.</li><li>Multi-Functional / Cross-Functional Support. Demonstrate a multi-functional attitude by actively participating in various roles as needed by the Company. Provide inter-departmental support (as needed) with a willingness to jump in. This may include assisting with photography, cataloging, or other tasks related to auction house operations.</li><li>Client Interaction. Interact and communicate professionally with both internal and external clients, providing exceptional customer service during pick-ups, deliveries, etc.</li><li>Adherence to Safety Protocols. Follow strict safety protocols (on the road, on property, and off-property) to prevent accidents, damages, and ensure the well-being of yourself, colleagues, and valuable items.</li><li>Brand Ambassadorship. Act as a brand ambassador by embodying the values and image of BRG and its brands, fostering positive relationships with clients, and promoting a professional and reputable image during all interactions. This includes working with transparency and integrity, being trustworthy with confidential information, ensuring &ldquo;big-picture&rsquo; methodology to approaching tasks, and complying with company policies, procedures and regulations ((documented, written, and/or verbal).</li><li>Other. Also, perform other duties as needed/assigned as business needs and requirements evolve.</li></ul>Compensation &amp; BenefitsThis full-time position pays an hourly wage range of $23-25 + time-and-a-half overtime, commensurate with experience.Our competitive compensation package also includes PTO, 401(k) retirement savings, healthcare, dental, vision, life insurance, and other ancillary benefits including employee discount on showroom purchases.The Company offers some flexibility with actual hours worked in order to provide you with a work/life balance.
