The Opportunity
</b></h2></div><div><p><i>As a </i><b><i>Staff Structural &ndash; Transmission Line Engineer</i></b><i> you will have the opportunity to:</i></p><br>

<li>Support design engineering and analysis on transmission scopes.</li>
<li>Support large, extensive 345kV+ rebuild and greenfield projects, including trending technologies like HVDC and 765kV.</li>
<li>Collect and assimilate data for engineering work. Perform research and prepare calculations in accordance with Black &amp; Veatch and industry standards.</li>
<li>Develop recommendations for equipment and materials. Understand and work successfully within budget, project schedule, and quality requirements.</li>
<li>May assist with providing guidance to engineering team members.</li>
<li>Maintain positive client relations understanding client interests and drivers through effective communication with the project team.</li>
<li>May assist with business development activities.</li>
<li>Function as a technical specialist.</li>

Key Responsibilities</b></h2>

Engineering Standards:</b></p>

<li>Continues to learn, remains current and applies independent knowledge and interpretation about departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black and Veatch policies and procedures relative to assigned tasks</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Quality / Continuous Improvement:</b></p>

<li>Consistently and independently applies knowledge and complies with Black and Veatch quality program relative to assigned tasks</li>
<li>May be responsible for ensuring compliance with Black and Veatch quality program</li>

<p><b>Engineering Production:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables</li>
<li>Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection</li>
<li>Prepares complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles</li>
<li>Manages assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements</li>
<li>Plans and conducts independent evaluation, selection and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria</li>
<li>Reviews lower level engineering work or assignments</li>
<li>Is responsible for one or more of the following: overseeing collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work; leading smaller production teams; and serving as the responsible charge for a project</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Project Coordination:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Actively coordinates with all other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Client Focus:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Responsible for assisting with identification of key client interests and drivers on less complex projects</li>
<li>Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work on less complex projects</li>
<li>May provide support to business development or pursuit activities</li>

<li>Recognized as a technical specialist by the division having in-depth knowledge of an engineering process and/or of technical aspects of an industry</li>

<li>Typically assists with performance management process, mentoring, recognition, and any corrective actions required</li>
<li>May be accountable for some administrative responsibilities that include but aren't limited to:

<li>Proven strong written and verbal communications skills.</li>
<li>Ability to think quick at the job site and in front of customer personnel.</li>

<li>Experience with the design of utility-scale electrical transmission systems.</li>
<li>Structural design of transmission steel structures and their foundations.</li>
<li>Basic structural steel and concrete experience using 3D analysis and design software.</li>

The Opportunity</b></h2>

This opportunity with Black &amp; Veatch offers the chance to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams within the Power Providers Market Sector, supporting Advanced Power Generation (APG) projects and building critical infrastructure for today&rsquo;s and tomorrow&rsquo;s challenges. Civil professionals contribute to site development efforts, including grading and drainage, erosion control, roadways, fencing, and underground utilities.</p>
<p>
The Virtual Design &amp; Data Solutions (VDDS) Associate Engineering Technician plays a key role in supporting the development of highquality engineering deliverables for these complex infrastructure projects. Under general supervision, this position performs technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices, with a focus on creating and modifying site development plans using industrystandard design tools, such as Autodesk Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, and Bentley OpenPlant Modeler.</p></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Key Responsibilities</b></h2>
