Blouse House Creative &ndash; New River Valley, VA Full Time | 32&ndash;40 hours per week | Hourly pay based on experienceAbout the RoleBlouse House Creative is looking for a motivated, detail-focused Graphic Designer to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who loves design but also enjoys hands-on production work&mdash;turning creative ideas into real, tangible products.You&rsquo;ll create designs, work with clients, prepare files, run print equipment, help with production tasks, and support daily shop operations. As you grow, you&rsquo;ll take on expanded responsibilities including pricing, cross-training, and client communication.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign<ul><li>Create visually compelling designs for print, signage, branding, and digital content.</li></ul><ul><li>Prepare production-ready files (sizing, bleeds, color profiles, material specs).</li></ul><ul><li>Collaborate with clients on revisions, proofs, and approvals.</li></ul><ul><li>Maintain consistency across client and in-house brand assets.</li></ul>Printing<ul><li>Operate and monitor large-format and digital printers.</li></ul><ul><li>Prepare materials and files for printing, laminating, cutting, and finishing.</li></ul><ul><li>Troubleshoot minor issues with printers.</li></ul><ul><li>Ensure accurate color, alignment, and print quality.</li></ul>Shop Support<ul><li>Assist with production tasks such as trimming, laminating, vinyl weeding, and assembly.</li></ul><ul><li>Keep the shop clean, organized, and stocked.</li></ul><ul><li>Help prepare orders for pickup and delivery.</li></ul><ul><li>Support daily workflow and communicate job status to the team.</li></ul><ul><li>Occasional out-of-office work for assisting on installations, client meetings, and community events.</li></ul>Client Interaction<ul><li>Greet customers and assist with walk-ins in a friendly, professional manner.</li></ul><ul><li>Answer phones and support basic customer questions.</li></ul><ul><li>Assist with proofs, pickup coordination, and project details.</li></ul><ul><li>Represent Blouse House Creative with excellent customer service.</li></ul>QualificationsRequired<ul><li>Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).</li></ul><ul><li>Graphic Design degree OR equivalent experience with a strong portfolio.</li></ul><ul><li>Strong attention to detail and file accuracy.</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to learn new equipment and production processes.</li></ul><ul><li>Strong communication and time-management skills.</li></ul><ul><li>Reliable transportation and valid driver&rsquo;s license.</li></ul>Preferred<ul><li>Experience in a print shop, sign shop, or related production environment.</li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with large-format printing or finishing equipment.</li></ul><ul><li>Understanding of color theory and print materials.</li></ul><ul><li>Customer service experience.</li></ul>Working Conditions<ul><li>In-person role in a creative studio and production environment.</li></ul><ul><li>Standing for longer periods of time and lifting rolls of vinyl.</li></ul><ul><li>Fast-paced environment with collaborative workflow.</li></ul>Benefits<ul><li>Opportunities for professional development and cross-training.</li></ul><ul><li>Collaborative, creative work environment.</li></ul><ul><li>Flexible scheduling options.</li></ul><ul><li>Employee discounts on products and services.</li></ul><ul><li>Opportunity to grow into more advanced design, production, or client-facing roles.</li></ul>Blouse House Creative fosters a positive atmosphere, encourages open communication, and values community involvement.
