</h1><div>Put the employee experience first
<ul><li>Design, administer, and continuously improve health, retirement, voluntary, and wellbeing programs with a strong focus on clarity, accessibility, and ease of use
</li><li>Champion employee understanding and adoption of benefits through thoughtful communication, data‑driven insights, and strategic partnerships
</li><li>Act as a trusted advisor to HR colleagues and employees, bringing empathy, judgment, and strong problem‑solving skills to complex situations
</li></ul>Lead with influence and expertise
<ul><li>Own the ongoing configuration, testing, maintenance, and enhancement of benefits programs in Workday , ensuring accuracy and a seamless employee experience
</li><li>Partner on Workday releases, improvements, and digital enablement efforts that reduce friction, improve self‑service, and increase transparency
</li><li>Use technology, analytics, automation, and emerging AI capabilities to improve operational efficiency and employee support.
</li></ul>Align wellbeing to strategy&mdash;and make it stick
<ul><li>Ensure wellbeing programs are clearly aligned to broader people and business strategy
</li><li>Increase awareness and perceived value of existing benefits&mdash;especially no‑cost or employer‑paid offerings&mdash;through targeted campaigns and insights from engagement or utilization data
</li><li>Collaborate with HR and key stakeholders to ensure wellbeing initiatives are relevant, measurable, and responsive to workforce needs
</li></ul>Ensure compliant, trusted benefit administration
<ul><li>Maintain strong oversight of benefits compliance across federal, state, and local regulations (including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and related requirements)
</li><li>Coordinate audits, filings, required notices, and reporting with vendors and external partners, ensuring timeliness and accuracy
</li><li>Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, assess impact, and provide clear recommendations to leadership on required or optional program changes
</li></ul>Lead with influence and expertise
<ul><li>Manage vendor relationships to ensure programs are administered efficiently, compliantly, and in alignment with organizational goals
</li><li>Provide mentorship and subject‑matter guidance to HR colleagues, supporting consistent, high‑quality benefits administration
</li><li>Use benchmarking, trend analysis, and workforce insights to inform future benefits and wellbeing strategy
</li></ul><h1 class="jobSectionHeader">What you need to succeed:
</h1><ul><li>5-7 years of experience in employee benefits administration and analysis
</li><li>Strong knowledge of benefits compliance and regulatory requirements
</li><li>Hands‑on experience administering benefits in Workday (strongly preferred)
</li><li>Digital fluency and comfort leveraging HR technology, data, automation, and emerging AI capabilities
</li><li>A balance of analytical rigor and employee empathy&mdash;you can handle complexity without losing sight of the human experience
</li><li>Ability to translate strategy into action and communicate clearly with multiple stakeholders
</li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in HR, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience); professional certification (e.g., SHRM‑CP, CBP) a plus

BCBSRI is headquartered in downtown Providence, conveniently located near the train station and bus terminal. We actively support associate well-being and work/life balance and offer the following schedules, based on role:
<ul><li>In-office : onsite 5 days per week
</li><li>Hybrid: onsite 2-4 days per week
</li><li>Remote: onsite 0-1 days per week. Permitted to reside in the following states, pending approval from the Human Resources Department: Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia
