The right candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills to represent the hotel professionally and be able to close business.Primary Objective of Sales Manager Position: The Sales Managerwill be a key member of the sales team whose primary role is to solicit and handle group inquiries for the Corporate, Association and Government markets including room blocks, meeting space and catering. The ideal candidate will thrive in this highly team-oriented sales environment to ensure that all revenue goals are met by the team and ensure that our customer&rsquo;s expectations are met and exceeded!Responsibilities:&middot; Solicit, negotiate and generate contracted revenues from volume prospects that meet criteria established in the hotel business plan.&middot; Accurately and professionally prepare specific and customized proposals, so that both client and hotel receive a good value.&middot; Prospect for new contract business using a wide variety of methods including phone calls, outside sales calls, attending community functions, internet prospecting, supplier partnerships, and Knowland.&middot; Manage and maintain an accurate and up-to-date contact management system.&middot; Negotiate and close contracts that meet the hotel's business plan objectives. Desired arrival, departure and volume patterns must be met.&middot; Internally communicate client requirements, thereby insuring all information is accurate between client and hotel staff.&middot; Coordinate and participate in target market trade shows and sales blitzes.&middot; Conduct competitive analysis and maintain competitor files in order to be able to compete successfully.&middot; Maintain good rapport with local civic groups and companies and engage/participate in meetings and events to represent the hotel.&middot; Associates Degree in Sales &amp; Marketing, Hospitality, Business, or a related field strongly preferred.&middot; Minimum 3+ years hotel sales manager experience in Full-Service hotel(s).
