To support this vision, BJ has invested heavily in systems, equipment, and personnel. We now seek an AV &amp; IT Infrastructure Specialist to serve as a high-level technical anchor for our digital media broadcast environments and core network infrastructure.Position Overview The A/V, Livestream, &amp; IT Infrastructure Specialist is a specialized hybrid role reporting to the Livestream Producer &amp; A/V Manager while working in close coordination with the Director of Facilities and our external Managed IT Service Provider. This position serves as the primary on-site technical authority for the physical network architecture and the high-fidelity broadcast environments that power BJ's global reach.Note: This position focuses strictly on production, campus-wide network infrastructure, and cybersecurity; it does not handle day-to-day internal office tech support or individual staff helpdesk tickets.This is a hands-on role requiring a non-traditional schedule, including on-site coverage for Shabbat (Friday night / Saturday morning), Jewish holidays, and major community events, balanced with weekday infrastructure optimization.Key Responsibilities1. A/V &amp; Livestream Engineering (Approx. 50%)<ul><li>Livestream Production : Partner with the Livestream Producer &amp; A/V Manager to configure, optimize, and operate BJ&rsquo;s multi-site livestream systems and high-end broadcast equipment (Newtek Tricaster, OBS) in our main Sanctuary and Community House .</li><li>Audio/Visual Support: Provide A/V support as needed by setting up and breaking down equipment for live events and hybrid meetings, and provide support with lighting and simple live audio mixing.</li><li>Production Systems Management: Oversee the technical integration of BJ&rsquo;s digital lighting system and complex multi-channel audio environments.</li><li>Event Support: Provide technical execution and troubleshooting for services, high-profile programs, and large-scale community events.</li></ul>2. Core Network Infrastructure &amp; Data Security (Approx. 50%)<ul><li>Strategic Partnership: Act as the primary, highly technical on-site liaison for BJ&rsquo;s Managed IT Service Provider. Co-manage hardware deployments, handle network segmentation, and serve as the on-the-ground engineer to implement advanced security configurations or resolve complex outages.</li><li>Network Architecture Maintenance: Monitor, optimize, and maintain the health of the core campus IT infrastructure (switches, firewalls, routers, enterprise Wi-Fi access points, and low-voltage cabling) across our historic multi-building campus.</li><li>Data Security &amp; Cybersecurity Compliance: Implement and enforce rigorous data security protocols for AV and network infrastructure. Secure access controls for local NAS/SAN storage, audit physical rack security, and protect live broadcast streams from external interference or cyber threats.</li><li>Facilities &amp; Infrastructure Engineering: Partner with the Director of Facilities on capital physical infrastructure projects, including server room climate control/backup power systems, point-to-point network bridges between campus buildings, and network-connected facility security systems (CCTV, access control).</li><li>Disaster Recovery &amp; Asset Lifecycle: Oversee backup integrity for administrative and digital media files. Maintain a comprehensive registry of technical assets, software licenses, and lifecycle schedules.</li></ul>Qualifications, Skills, and Experience<ul><li>Experience: A minimum of 4-5+ years of professional experience, seamlessly splitting competencies between advanced live A/V production and enterprise IT network infrastructure.</li><li>Education &amp; Certifications: Post-secondary degree in a technical field or equivalent premium certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, or specialized A/V certifications like CTS) are highly desirable.</li><li>IT &amp; Security Expertise: Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, firewall configurations, and data encryption.</li><li>A/V Production Mastery: Command of livestreaming ecosystems, digital video switchers, multi-source audio routing</li><li>Collaborative Skills: Exceptional communication skills with a track record of successfully managing vendor relationships and collaborating with organizational leadership.</li><li>Attributes: A methodical, calm-under-pressure problem solver who takes total ownership of technical ecosystems. Knowledge of, or a deep respect for, Jewish faith, traditions, and culture is highly preferred.</li></ul>Work EnvironmentThe BJ campus includes the Sanctuary building on 257 West 88th Street and the Community House on 270 West 89th Street, which are connected at the ground level.ScheduleThe AV &amp; IT Infrastructure Specialist is a full-time, non-exempt position. This role requires a flexible, non-traditional schedule with regular, required on-site presence on Friday evenings and Saturdays (Shabbat), as well as during major Jewish holidays, including the High Holy Days. Infrastructure maintenance and strategic vendor alignment can be scheduled flexibly across regular weekday business hours.Compensation &amp; BenefitsThis is a full-time non-exempt position with an annual salary range of $60,000 to $65,000.
